Another teaser from our R&D process of Apex’s vehicle specific applications for ML-10RT. With this new wheel, we’ll be releasing 993 specific fitments for the first time! To do so, we used our Creaform 3D scanner to model the brakes on this 993 Turbo, and then test fit an 18x9” ET46 ML-10RT prototype wheel we had at our office.

The end result will be an 18x8.5” ET44 tailored specifically for the 993 to allow for better fender clearance, tire availability and brake clearance for both Carrera and Turbo models. However, we couldn’t help but take photos of the test fit on this beautiful example of Porsche's last air-cooled 911.

At long last, we’re beginning to leak on-car photography of our new forged ML-10RT wheel design. The particular wheel application shown here is one of the most physically constrained fitments in our catalog, of which typically forces an underwhelming aesthetic appeal to most other wheel designs in the market. It was a big challenge for our engineering team, but we’re thrilled with what we’ve been able to do with it. You’ve seen our extreme concave fitments, let’s take a look at the ML-10RT when we have extreme clearance requirements.

This is an 18x9” ET42 VW/Audi wheel, in their 5x112 57.1mm PCD. VW makes a habit of incorporating suspension geometry that requires a high offset wheel. Mix that with brake calipers that are often on small rotors or pushed out toward the edge of the car, VAG wheels typically have flat, sometimes even convex spoke profiles to accommodate for their fitment constraints.

Our in-house engineers were able to shrink wrap the spoke profile of the ML-10RT around all applicable OEM brakes, including the largest of the bunch - the MK8 Golf R. Even with these strict clearance requirements the 18x9” ET42 ML-10RT VW/Audi wheel falls within our Profile 2 face profile assignment, retaining the concavity we all love within the spoke architecture.

We’re thrilled to be able to offer the ML-10RT to the VW and Audi community without the aesthetic compromise similar lipped designs of the past have forced upon them, while retaining OEM brake compatibility across the full model lineup of base, Performance Package, and R trim levels. For those with aftermarket big brake kits, our Sprint Line wheels have been rigorously developed to clear almost every brake caliper on the market.

Here's a good example of a hardcore track fitment for the BMW F82 M4 CS running VS-5RS 18x10.5 ET22 square. The owner Nick competes in the time attack series and demands maximum performance. While we don't recommend this fitment for most F8X applications, Nick opted to go with this aggressive square setup to compliment his wider 285/30/18 RE-71RS tire choice and reduce the spacer requirement of higher offset fitments.

While our most popular staggered fitment for the F87 M2 uses a 19x9.5 ET28 up front, many enthusiasts with aftermarket suspension opt to run 19x9.5 ET22 instead as it lets you run a wider front wheel and tire than stock without needing spacers to clear the front suspension. ’s M2 featured here is a perfect example of this setup with a KW HAS kit and camber plates. 19x10.5 ET45 in the rear is still a direct fit in the rear and perfectly suits the 295/30-19 Nankang CR-S tires.

Check out this 18x9" ET46 Porsche front wheel featuring our Race Silver finish with a machined lip. This is a great representation of our Face Profile 1, which is the shallowest of 4 face profiles offered in our new ML-10 wheel design. While we all love aggressive spoke concavity, our team of engineers optimize spoke profiles for a wide variety of vehicle applications and each has its own brake clearance, width, and offset requirements.

The spoke curvature on this Profile 1 prototype gives off a timeless appearance that is sure to look at home on the front of any Porsche. Frankly, we think it's stunning!
