About Us – APALI 06/13/2024

Our Midori Kai grants are a 'partnership' of support to non-profit organizations. Not only do we provide a monetary grant, but our Directors support the activities and programs of our recipients. Between now and our boutique (Sept 14), we will highlight our grant recipients to share the great things that they do.

We are honored to provide Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute (APALI) with a 2024-2025 Midori Kai Grant! APALI's work is so important to build community power through developing civic-minded leaders, closing the leadership gap and building a community of public leaders to increase representation, equity and social justice. They will celebrate their 27th Anniversary this year and we hope that you can join us!

We have been working on our 2024-2025 Grant selections-this process takes several months! The Directors started nominating candidates last Fall. Then we short list the list (there are so many worthy organizations!). Then we prepare them and us for an In Person interview/presentation. Then the big day arrives where we get to meet our candidates! They are given questions in advance and we allow timed responses. It is an amazing morning full of energy and we are humbled by the great work that everyone does.

We've been a bit quiet lately, but only because we have been so busy! Here are some of our Midori Kai directors at the Yu Ai Kai 50th Anniversary Golden Gala on March 16, slightly over one month ago! Congratulations Yu Ai Kai, one of our former Grant recipients. Stay tuned as we will share some exciting news in the next few weeks!
