Hi, did you miss me? I did, and that is why here I am sharing this painting I completed a few weeks ago when my Calla lilies were in full bloom. Those blooms are not replaced by the roses, gazanias, geraniums, African irises, alsotromerias, and African daisies. I am so fortunate to have all these flowers blooming in my garden every year. I'll share pictures soon.

Swallow tailed contiga - in a sad and scary world of AI generated photos of EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING under the sun, I saw a simple photo of this beautiful bird. I just wanted to paint it. Unfortunately, I can't credit the photographer since I couldn't track down who to credit.
Thankfully, I could find out the name of the bird. Isn't it a beautiful bird?

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine gave me this beautiful bouquet. The bouquet was made by her daughter. Swipe to see the bouquet. I was so inspired by this stunning combination of colors that I had to try painting it.
It wasn't easy. This literally took hours to paint and then days of adjustments, additional layers, and modifications. I am still not sure if I did justice. But I am happy with the outcome. The 100 cotton handmade paper, as usual, makes the painting look so rich.

So this was fun! I started this 11x14 piece based on an inspiration from floral flatlays by . One thing led to another and after several hours spent over few days of let me add this, this spot needs another layers, how about few leaves, swirls etc etc... I got this.
It was ridiculously hard to take pictures though. 🙄 I was super frustrated and not satisfied with the photos.

Happy March with one of my favorite flowers...Magnolias! They are blooming all around town. I absolutely love this time of the year. Pink and white blooms, different shades of greens, smell of wet grass from the rain overnight; what's not to love. And oh, it's Friday!!!

You got to love it when a painting turns out even better than you had hoped it would.

Have to give a shoutout to this non cotton paper. As usual, I started painting without any plan and didn't intend on using as much water or color and layers as I did. Surprisingly, the paper did hold up well.
Primarily used Kristy's brushes. I absolutely love the fine liner brush. It's amazing for fine lines. It is sort of a rigger but not quite.

Winter sceneries

This is one of the paintings I used for making my holiday card prints. I added white glitter on the printed cards to give the illusion of snow. Needless to say, the card was a hit. I have sold out all the prints. I usually do a limited number of prints for cards. Looks like I might need to print a few more per request.

Birch in Fall Part 2

Painting birch trees in fall colors had been on my list forever. I am glad that I finally got around to painting my second birch in fall piece.

Trees

During Thanksgiving break a couple of weeks ago, my family went to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico for a trip. It was gloriously beautiful. Lazy days on the beach, soaking the sun, listening to the sound of the crashing waves.
The Melacon, aka board walk in the town of Puerto Vallarta, is wonderful. The entire path has so many wonderful and interesting statues.
We also visited a small and quirky town called Sayulita.
The entire trip was wonderful.

FALL scenery

I can not even begin to tell you how proud, happy, excited, and satisfied I am with this piece. This is inspired by a wonderful tutorial on YouTube by

If you are my friend and have been following me for a while, you know I am not a shopper, and I certainly do not splurge on art supplies. But I have been eyeing these papers for a while, especially since Amber
uses them so much.
I purchased two different types of paper last week, and they were promptly shipped and delivered.
This is the first type I tried. I highly recommend them. These are only 150 GSM, yup you read it right. But because they are cotton paper, they soak up water really well. The texture of the paper is simply awesome. And NO I AM NOT GETTING PAID TO SAY THIS. 🤣🤣🤣
There's another type of paper which I am yet to try. But because I already love this paper I decided to try another type of paper from them and placed another order last night.
I can't wait to try the other paper. And am eagerly waiting for the arrival of my last night's order. So excited.
