It's been over a year since the tragic death of Home Depot loss prevention employee, Blake Mohs, who was fatally shot by a shoplifter. Last week, our team of police officers collaborated with other loss prevention staff to conduct a sting operation aimed at preventing similar crimes in the future. This joint effort resulted in the arrest of a suspect who was caught leaving the store with a generator concealed inside a garbage can. Together, we're dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community.

Youth can ride the bus for free this summer!
If you haven't heard, now through August 12th youth can ride the bus for free. The following is copied from the Pleasanton Weekly:
"Youth ride free
The Wheels bus system in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin is offering free bus service to all youth throughout summer break, hoping to make it easy for kids and teens to enjoy their break close to home while also encouraging them to give public transit a try.
Underway as of last Saturday and continuing to Aug. 12, the “Summer Youth Ride Free” promotion requires no verification or special pass — “just say youth ride free,” officials said, suggesting children and their families could use the program for travel to camps, jobs, educational programs or any summer adventure that beckons."
“Youth who learn to utilize transit understand its benefits and become our strongest advocates”, Evan Branning, LAVTA’s board vice chair, said in a statement. “They understand that public transit supports an environmentally responsible lifestyle and a sustainable future.”

We had a professional photographer in the neighborhood last week to take photos of two homes for sale (7293 Valley Trails Dr and 3548 Glacier Ct). While they were here, we got some new photos of the park!
This is the last of the new photos, so vote and let me know which ones are your favorites. Which one should we make our cover photo?

It is Arbor Day! If you don't have plans to plant a tree in your yard, you can appreciate the trees in Valley Trails Park. Trees provide shade on warm sunny days, like in this photo.
I'll be posting one picture every day this week, so vote and let me know which ones are your favorites.

Remember the City Council Meeting is tonight at 7 pm! Please come support us.
Tax Day is Here!
Owning a home is one of the best tax breaks there is for the average American. Remember to consider your home when filling out your taxes today.
Please come to the City Council meeting Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. It will probably be our last meeting to try to get a more reasonable plan for the Hopyard and Valley Trails Drive site (where the Harvest Valley Church is currently). They want to build 57, 3 story units on that site with 9 high density housing units. The buildings will be as tall as the top of the flag pole that is there now. Probably 114 more cars and only six parking spots for guests, or residents who cannot park in their small garages.
Do you realize that an extra 57 homes in Valley Trails is a 10% increase? The traffic study was full of holes and doesn't account for how that increase is going to affect schools and morning commutes. Please come to the City Council Meeting next Tuesday at 7 pm to help stop this development. If they want to demolish the church and build homes, then we want an honest traffic study.
Remember - tonight is another city planning meeting. Come and make our voices heard protesting the new proposed high-density development at 3200 Hopyard. They want to fit 114 cars there! It is too much for Valley Trails.
Important Meeting Wednesday: Protect Your Home
Value, Neighborhood, and Pleasanton!
