A couple of months ago I had my daughter take some new headshots for my soon-to-be updated website. It’s not easy being on the other side of the camera!

Here are a few random facts about me:
1. I love to travel! My future trip list keeps growing.
2. I’ve been doing photography off and on for 15 years. My husband was an officer in the Navy so I restarted my business every time we moved. Happy to say we are in MN to stay!
3. I could eat pizza every day. I don’t, but I could.
4. I was diagnosed this year with combined type ADHD-both a relief and an annoyance!
5. I’m really bad at remembering to post to social media (see #4) 😜
6. I have two teenagers (?!) and they are the best ❤️

Last year I got to work on a super fun project with Pedal Pub! Have you tried it or seen them around? I managed not to get run over OR trip and fall while running along side of them. If anyone has video of me while shooting, please don’t send it to me 😂

Where to go for a one year session when the weather is cold? A coffee shop, of course! 😘 Such a fun location and the other patrons couldn’t have been more friendly! How could you not smile watching this little guy?!

The newer the baby, the better 😉 Should you book a Fresh 48 AND a newborn session? Absolutely! Those first hours in the hospital are a blur and a session in the hospital will be totally different than your in-home newborn session. Want to capture siblings meeting the new baby? I’m your girl 😉

As we wait for things to green up around here, I wanted to share this extended family session from the fall. It was 17 degrees outside! But this family was only all together for the weekend so we went ahead! They did so great—you can’t even tell they were freezing! (I may have removed some red noses in photoshop 😉)

Such a fun maternity session! I can’t wait to meet baby brother soon!

I met this family when they were just about 12 weeks pregnant doing pictures to announce the exciting news, then again at their maternity session, and then to meet their sweet baby. I love getting to know my clients and by the time this baby arrived, I was SO excited for them! Aren't they the cutest?!

Love working with this family and cannot wait for baby number three! What’s your guess? Boy or girl?

Here’s your sign that you can still book a newborn session even if your babe is a few weeks old! I love doing sessions between weeks 3-4 because they are more awake, they are making eye contact, and you can just see the curiosity they have about this big world. ❤️

I can’t wait to share more of this cutie’s one year session! A studio opening near by has given the perfect option for shooting during cold weather! 😍 .

Here’s a few things that will and will not happen during a newborn session with me:
1. We will NOT be rushed. If your baby needs an extra feeding, that’s okay! If your toddler needs time to warm up or take a break, let’s do it!

2. You WILL have a relaxed time, laughing, playing, and snuggling. ❤️

3. We will NOT worry if your house isn’t perfectly clean—I can toss stuff in closets like a pro. Many a laundry baskets have been hidden behind the camera 😉

Just one more! If you’ve worked with me, you’ve heard me say those exact words as I’m clicking away on my camera. You also know I’m a total liar because “just one more” means 5-10 more 😜 📷

As much as I take these photos for you, I feel like I take them for me, too. In a totally unselfish/selfish kind of way, of course! For you, to capture this sweet time in your life. For me, to know that years from now you'll look back at these and smile and remember how little they were because time is both a gift and a bit of a thief. Schedule that session—don't wait for a "better time" because the best time is right now

The first day of my freshman year at college, I met the blonde girl that lived next to me in the dorm. It took about three seconds to hit it off, and the rest of my college career would include memories with her! I didn’t spill any of the stories during her family session to her kids, but when they’re old enough, I have some to tell. Mostly about us studying in the library 😜 So happy to be back in MN so I could see her beautiful home, and capture her beautiful family. ❤️

I might be biased, but I really do have the BEST clients! 2023 was a really great year for my business and I’m so excited for the upcoming year! It’s going to be a busy one, so if you’ve been thinking about booking a session with me, it’s never too early to get it in the books!
