The Bank of Ann Arbor Music in the Air concert season kicks off tomorrow, May 24 with Michael May & the Messarounds! It's Family Fun Night in the Henry Ford Health Fun Zone. We'll have free balloon animals and face painters for the kids. The band will start playing their rock and blues sounds on the Hines Park Lincoln stage at 7 p.m. The Rotary Club of Plymouth returns as a major sponsor, and will be selling 2024 concert T shirts at their tent near Main Street. This week's sponsor is Adient.

The Burger Spot Food Truck will be on site, as well as the Kiwanis Popcorn Wagon and the Plymouth Community United Way selling treats.

As always, if you can't make tomorrow's concert in person, you can stream the concert live on the Downtown Plymouth YouTube channel www.youtube.com/downtownplymouth . Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss any of our live streams and/or videos.

The Plymouth Township Fire Department has now partnered with the State of Michigan's “MI Prevention” to install smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors for our residents. If you are a resident of Plymouth Township and are in need of these life saving devices we may be able to help. The Plymouth Township Fire Department is not only tasked with responding to emergencies, but also preventing them. This program is grant funded and we aim to educate while simultaneously protecting. During the installation process do not hesitate to ask your Firefighter/Paramedics questions about their profession and what you can do to better protect yourself and your family.

The process has been made simple. Call us at (734) 414-1539 and leave a message on the Fire Department’s Public Relations voicemail. Please include your name, your address and a contact number. A Firefighter/Paramedic will call you back within a few days to schedule a time for installation.

There is no cost to Plymouth Township residents, but our Firefighter/Paramedics must install each detector due to these units being grant funded through the State of Michigan. Plymouth Township Firefighter/Paramedics are always searching for new and improved ways to serve the community in which we are tasked with protecting.

Education can chart a child’s future, opening doors and setting students up for a lifetime of success. Federal student aid is one tool that can help make these opportunities a reality for many students.

The 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has undergone significant changes in an effort to better serve students and families. While there's still progress needed to be made to ensure the form is as easy as it can be to complete, these changes mean more students than ever may qualify for federal need-based aid, which could include grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.

This week, United Way is joining U.S. Department of Education in encouraging students to submit applications for student aid by April 19! Take a quick break, answer a few questions, and get one step closer to receiving the aid you need and deserve! Go to studentaid.gov and take a now!
