June 19 is the date in 1865 viewed as the final abolition of slavery in the U.S., two years after the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021, and a state holiday in Minnesota this year.

Just a reminder: there's no summer programming tomorrow, June 19, as the district observes and celebrates Juneteenth. This also includes Adventure Club and The Basement.

2024 Armstrong graduate Benjamin Fricke has received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA)!

An appointment to USAFA is an incredible honor, and requires a congressional nomination, demonstrated academic excellence, physical fitness, and community involvement, as well as a commitment to service above self.

Ben will report to USAFA at the end of June, and plans to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering. Upon graduation from the USAFA he will proudly serve his country as an officer in the United States Air Force.

Falcons softball finish second in Section 6AAAA tournament Armstrong softball’s season came to an end last week after finishing second in the Section 6AAAA tournament after a two-game final against Edina on May 28 and 29.

Falcons, Rebels and Pirates send track and field athletes to state Champlin Park, Park Center and Robbinsdale Armstrong track and field teams were busy at the end of last month with a Northwest Suburban Conference meet and their respective section tournaments

Last night we held our team banquet celebrating our season. We saw a lot of improvement this year with an 8th place finish out of 14 teams at conference, and a 5th place finish out of 10 teams at sections, with several new players joining our program. We are excited to see our program growing and improving!

A special thank you to our senior Lizzy Nyoike, we appreciate your time and commitment to our program and wish you all the best on your future endeavors.

TODAY IS THE DAY: it's graduation day for members of 's Class of 2024 at Armstrong, Cooper, Robbinsdale Virtual Academy (RVA) and Highview! All the commencement ceremonies will take place today at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

🎓 Armstrong's ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m.
🎓 RVA's commencement will begin at 4:30 p.m.
🎓 Cooper's commencement will begin at 6:30 p.m.
🎓 Highview students will walk with their home school.

Join 's American Indian Education Department for our NEW, monthly Dakota and Ojibwe language tables. The first event is from 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, at FAIR School Pilgrim Lane. All levels of language speakers are welcome, and dinner will be provided.
