Tuesday Update:
The weather was beautiful for our day today and the rain held off until evening! We performed at Monterey Park Health Center this morning for about 25 residents and they loved the students! After lunch, we went to the National World War 1 Memorial in Kansas City. We had amazing guides that taught us so much about the war. The students didn't want to leave! We also got to sing in the museum. This evening, 43 of the kids went to the City Union Mission Family Shelter and sang for 50 ladies and children. The audience was so kind and appreciative. Their life stories and expressions of gratitude brought many students to tears. We had a sweet time sharing testimonies and stories at the hotel this evening. I think the students have definitely been impacted for Christ by this trip and we thankful for their tender hearts. I'm so thankful for their flexibility, good attitudes, and wonderful performances on our trip!
Monday update!
We had a great morning at Eagle Heights Christian School and loved meeting their students and eating lunch with them.
The students also enjoyed 2 hours of fun and games at Main Event in Independence, MO.
This evening we were able to minister to about 60 men at the City Union Mission in downtown Kansas City. The mission has been around for 99 years and does an amazing ministry for homeless and struggling men. I know all of us were impacted greatly by our experience there!
The FBCS Musicians have had a great Sunday ministering at Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa, KS and Tri-City Baptist Church, Blue Springs, MO. The churches were so kind and welcoming and the students ministered well! It was hot outside - 90!! Students are doing well and enjoying their time.
