Six feet under ground, but still ALIVE.

I wrote a caption just now and my phone died. I talked about what's happened to me with my previous businesses. I talked about how everyone takes what is mine and tries to make it their own. How I thought I'd found the one place nobody could ever take simply bc nobody would ever want it.

It was angry and it was amazing.

I even had End of the Road cued to something like 2:57.

Really tho, I just never coulda imagined how many people I've brought together and in some ways I know I've even helped myself. Even if I can't quite see it yet.

I get hurt, but I heal and I come back stronger.

Tough Times was always about how you handle the hard s**t and who you become so maybe this always had to happen.

I'll see all my friends tonight and we'll close out this chapter, but I don't know if I'm ready to be finished writing new ones.

I've been awake since 3am; stressed & physically sick knowing I needed to make this announcement today. Tough Times will be closing at the end of this month.

Reflecting on the past 3 years; really tho, I've been awake for 1,000 days, working on this little music venue; every single day. We've booked over 1,000 acts, which must mean somewhere around 3,000 musicians (& comedians) have performed here. That's no small feat and I don't think any other place; big or small in South Florida can match it.

What I've come to understand in the past few days is that none of that matters to my landlord. This was a journey that began even before I got involved & my current lease was an assignment from Wyatt's lease. While I've worked on a new 5 year + 5 year extension; the property owner has refused to issue the new lease.

Now of course; there's some more to that & I may be able to talk a bit more openly in the future, but for now I'm solely concerned with our future.

This is a business that works, even in an area that only we know exists. We created this together, my ideas & work became a small part of your lives & your band's own story.

If we're able to find a new home & quickly I still have hope that in the end we can be in a better space for ourselves; for the music; and for every musician we work with in the future.
