Salvation Army Pontiac 360 Life Center
Serving the residents of Livingston County.
We have ooooodles and oodles of bread to share. Please come get a loaf or two! (Or 3!) ❤️😁
Did you know...
We have an Amazon Wish List dedicated to health and hygiene items for the community. We'd love for you to take a look.
Here is a quick reference for everyone for local food pantries in the area. :)
If you know of another that needs to be added to this list, please reach out. I would love to add it!
Reminder, 5:30 tonight is our meeting with Trajectory Energy about Community Solar. This is a free program that gives you a discount on your power bill every month. We will have snacks! 😁
Reminder, this Thursday at 5:30pm, we will be hosting Trajectory Energy to learn about how you can save on your power bill. You do not need to purchase panels, this is a subsidy on your power bill that will give you a monthly discount.
If you need an option for reducing your electric utility bill every month, join us August 22nd at 5:30pm at Salvation Army (112 N Division St). We will have a presentation from Trajectory Energy to learn how Solar may be able to help.
Heads up, it's the 3rd Tuesday of the month, which means The Salvation Army Pontiac 360 Life Center Food Pantry will be closed during our food delivery from Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Normal hours will resume tomorrow, Wednesday August 21st at 8:30am.
Thrift store will still be open.
Thanks for understanding!
Hello! I thought I'd reintroduce myself since we've come up in the Pontiac, IL group today, and there could be a bit more correct information to circulate. This is long, but has a lot of information if you'll stick with me until the end.
My name is Tina Hammer, and I've been the director here since Aug of 2022. In fact, my 2 year anniversary was the 9th! I'm very involved in Scouting, almost to a fault. I have a family with 2 boys and we stay very busy!
Our location is a thrift store, food pantry, and client service location. Our store is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30-12:30, and Tuesday and Thursday 8:30-3. Our food pantry is open 8:30-12:30 Monday thru Wednesday, and Thursdays we stay open until 3pm. We did this to allow more flexibility to those who can't make it in before 12:30. 99% of the time, I am the one you'll see at the window when you stop for food, although I do have a couple of volunteers that help with the pantry and allow me to get some much needed paperwork done.
We get food for the pantry from Eastern IL Foodbank, Walmart, Aldi and County Market. The third Tuesday of the month we will have to close early as that is the date we are scheduled to get our big delivery from Eastern. I cannot predict what time they will show, so sometimes we are open for a while early in the morning Tuesday, but will have to close shortly after. I also cannot predict how long it will take us to put it away, so we may not be able to open back up. Since our pantry is a client choice, shoppable pantry, it is impossible to get people through while we have a delivery. The pantry also is closed on Fridays now due to our food pickup from Walmart and Aldi. As I am the one leaving to get the food, we do not have anyone to run the pantry and it would also have to close as soon as the truck returned.
Our Friday food pickups are a TON of work, and we could always use extra hands to lessen the load, or at least cheer us on.
Thanks for sticking with me until the end. I have a lot more I'd like to talk about, so stay tuned for another episode.
Please put this meeting on your calendar. This can be for anyone, regardless of income.

We are excited to share that Salvation Army Pontiac 360 Life Center has partnered with Robert Craig Films to use the power of film to inspire action on behalf of the homeless crisis in our communities through the No Address Movement!
Robert Craig Films is releasing its feature film, "No Address," in theaters this fall and will additionally release a documentary, "Americans With No Address," a novelization of the screenplay, an interactive study guide, and a music album that will provide songs for the movie and radio distribution. Robert Craig Films has coined the phrase "The Big 5" to represent The Big 5 productions, and we are so excited to announce that we are a part of the Big 5 GIVEBACK!
The film is studded with Hollywood celebrities, such as William Baldwin, Ashanti, Xander Berkeley, Beverly D'Angelo, Lucas Jade Zumann, Patricia Velasquez, Isabella Ferreira, and Ty Pennington. "No Address" will vividly portray that homelessness could happen to anyone.

Glassware is becoming trendy again for its beauty and elegance, but not necessarily used the same way your grandmother used it.
Old wine glasses are now cupcake stands.
Candy dishes are jewelry holders.
Vases are mushroom bases, and bowls are the cap!
For your indoor plants, instead of a plastic tray, try glass!
Teacups can be drilled out and potted for a cute, demure flower or succulent. 🌸 🌵
The only limit to whimsy is your imagination.
ATTENTION!! We will be closing at 11am, tomorrow, June 7th.
We understand that this is inconvenient, but when we are limited on volunteers, we are unable to run operations as normal.
We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to assist us with our Friday food pick up at Walmart and Aldi. This pick up is every first, third, and fifth Friday of the month. You would need a valid driver's license and ideally a large vehicle like a truck or van. If you are interested, please give us a call at 815-844-5005.
If that's not your jam, we need some dedicated volunteers who could run our register on Friday mornings!
