Sandra Murphy and her husband, Jerry, owned and operated a clinical laboratory with divisions in radiology, ultrasound, and biohazard medical waste disposal. After years of service to the long-term care medical community, Sandra decided to pursue her interest in natural remedies and nutrition. Sandra is a clinical thermographer and is an important part of the BRAS Thermography of Southeast Missouri team.

Penny Goodrich-Burson is a clinical thermographer and is the owner of BRAS Thermography of Southeast Missouri. An acronym for Breast Research Awareness and Support, BRAS provides the real picture for early intervention utilizing thermography or Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI). DITI is a 15-minute noninvasive test that detects subtle physiologic changes that accompany breast pathology whether cancer, fibrocystic disease, infection, or vascular disease.

Penny has dedicated twenty years of her career to healthcare working for a private reference laboratory. During those years, she performed phlebotomy, directed the purchasing department, and managed the portable radiology division. In addition, Penny owned and operated a medical waste disposal company. Her experience in the traditional healthcare setting led to an interest in alternative medicine and methods. This interest became a passion and today she helps clients by providing a safe, painless, and radiation free method of breast and body screenings.

Penny is excited to bring thermography, which can also be used as an aid for prognosis and therapeutic monitoring for many conditions, to the southeast Missouri region.

Thermography is a noninvasive, no touch, and no radiation screening using Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) or infrared heat, developed originally by the military. It is invaluable in detecting breast abnormalities years ahead of a mammogram. At BRAS (Breast Research Awareness and Support) we focus on prevention and early detection to be proactive in our breast health instead of being reactive. We work with a team of medical doctors that have been specially trained in this field to read the images and write a report for the client.
