Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Education Foundation & Surfrider Foundation Benefit
On June 29th, FUNKWAYS will be playing at the Donna M. Morris Theater at Field Arts & Events Hall at 7PM. Following the theater show, FUNKWAYS will move upstairs to the Sunset Bar & Lounge for a laidback deep funk dance party and jam session.
FUNKWAYS is the brainchild of local composer and trumpet player Joel Ricci. Ricci (aka Lucky Brown) conducts an ensemble of Seattle rhythm and funk musicians in a dynamic and engaging live public ceremony/spectacle. Via his deep catalogue of over thirty self-produced and naïve, but sophisticated vinyl singles released in Europe and the USA over the past decade, he has been hailed by music mavens worldwide as a deep funk pioneer.
In the words of the artist, “Funkways’ mission is to commemorate, celebrate, and consecrate True Soul music as played from the heart, and to engender cultural health by promoting greater neighborhood social cohesion through the ancient practice of collective dance and community voice-raising.”

Two bits of good news today. 1st the ski area may be closed for the season, but the road to the Ridge is now open 24/7.
The 2nd bit is that the plans for the new lodge are now finished and construction will begin in June and finish on Dec 7th our opening day next year. One of these stories could be a bit foolish

How fun was today? Good sun, good friends, good fun, and a nice helping of Easter weekend powder. It was so good to see all the locals enjoying the day. Tomorrow is the last day of lift served skiing in the Olympics.

Mr Easter bunny shredded some runs and hid some eggs.

Dad, how does the Easter Bunny shred so hard? Because he rides in the Olympics at Hurricane Ridge!

Come on up for some pre-Easter, Easter egg hunting this Saturday. The Easter Bunny will be lapping the Bunny tow and the intermediate from 11 to 1 with eggs hidden all around the area. For you non-skiers and snowboarders he will also be doing laps in the parking lot handing out treats and offering great opportunities for Easter photos in the parking lot with the Olympics in the background.

Season ender update. The sun is setting on a short but sweet 23/24 season. Indy Pass people, this weekend is your last chance to grab your, I skied/snowboarded in the Olympics victory claim. Also, there will be no ski school this weekend and Saturday will be the last day of tubing. the forecast calls for new snow this week, followed by a full weekend of spring sunshine. See you on the hill!

The man, the myth, the legend. Celebrating over 65 years of Dr Roger Oakes and Hurricane Ridge. Chances are, if you're a local and had a baby delivered or ever skied in the Olympics, it was because of this fine young fellow. There is so much back story of why and how the Ridge exists and why it still does, and it all circles back to Roger. Get his book, Skiing in Olympic National Park, better yet, buy that man a beer and get it straight from the source.

We will be open tomorrow with all lifts open for the first time this year! Hot pow for all + tubing!

Tomorrow will be the first day of Poma operations. Beware, this is not the day to learn how to ride a Poma Lift. It is for advance riders only. You will have to hike out if you can not ride the lift.
