📢 Heads Up: Early Release Days! 📢

There will be 4 early release days dedicated to Professional Learning for our staff this school year. On these days, schools will dismiss 2 hours early, except for Charlotte Technical College.

𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴, 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟭, 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟮, & 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟯𝟬.

🚌 Bus schedules will be adjusted by 2 hours to bring students home.
👉 All on-campus after-school camps will proceed as normal.
👉 For off-campus programs, please check with them directly regarding pick-up arrangements.

Congratulations Vineland Elementary School for being recognized as a school that is Exceeding Expectations! VES was one of 35 schools in the state of Florida to receive this award based on various criteria, which includes: subject area achievement, learning gains and school grade. This group of educators shared their presentation "The Trickle Effect," to other schools across the state of Florida at the ECTAC conference in Orlando. Congrats to the Vineland Elementary School community on this great achievement!

📢 Charlotte County Public Schools or accredited home school program juniors and seniors, applications for the Junior Commission program have opened!

Participants will dive into local government functions, meeting commissioners, touring county facilities, attending commission sessions, pre-agenda meetings, workshops, code enforcement hearings, and even hosting their own Junior Commission mock meeting!

Help the Rotarians District 6960 and The United Way of Charlotte County fill a school bus with paper products and cleaning supplies. Items will be given to Charlotte County School students and their families.

Items Requested:
Paper products toilet paper, paper towels, Trash bags, Cleaning wipes and sprays- disinfectant, bathroom cleaner, Windex, all-purpose cleaner, Laundry soap, Dish soap, feminine hygiene products.

New PGD tenant building hangar to repair commercial jets - Gulfshore Business 06/29/2024

It’s happening! Our local programs are bringing businesses to Charlotte County and we couldn’t be more excited for it!

“The aviation school, run by Charlotte Technical College and part of the Charlotte County Public School district, graduates students who are already trained mechanics ready to enter the workforce. “

“Because of the Aviation Maintenance School at Punta Gorda Airport, NAS MRO chose to locate its first maintenance and repair overhaul facility in Punta Gorda, company Director of Operations and chief operating officer Nestor Camacho said.”

New PGD tenant building hangar to repair commercial jets - Gulfshore Business Charlotte County Airport Authority commissioners approved a land lease agreement with a Miami-area firm to build a hangar large enough to accommodate two single-body commercial jets for maintenance and repairs. The 5-acre site also will house an office, ramp and parking facilities.

This prestigious accolade is part of NSPRA’s Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards, which celebrate outstanding work in educational communications and digital media.

On Wednesday, June 19, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, Charlotte County Public Schools, Punta Gorda Police Department, Charlotte County Public Safety, and Charlotte County Emergency Management will participate in a training exercise focused on emergency student reunification procedures. Please do not be concerned if you see emergency personnel at the Harold Avenue Recreation Center; this is a planned exercise.

CCPS is thrilled to introduce Peachjar, our new innovative digital communication tool! Beginning June 20, school-approved flyers will be sent directly to guardian emails. Additionally, the community can easily access these flyers by clicking the Peachjar button on each school and district homepage, creating a convenient virtual bulletin board for everyone!

This initiative will save a significant amount of paper and reduce costs for our community partners. Beyond financial savings, it will alleviate the administrative burden on teachers, office staff, and volunteers. Additionally, it will provide families and community members with an easy and effective way to access important information, supporting our District Strategic Priority 3 of fostering strong community partnerships and enhancing communication.
