8:45 AM-10:00am at the Wellness Center at Drackett Hall.

Or Chair Yoga on Saturdays 10:00-11:00 am The First Sat 9/7 Chair Yoga is at Wesley Hall.

All Classes are $10.00 each.
Passes may be purchased at the Ad Min office, $5.00 discount.

A third attempt at writing this tribute.

Blessings to Jeanne Rose Grand Dame of Aromatherapy who passed this Earthly plain June 15,2024.

I first met Jeanne Rose when Herbalist Barbara Bobo suggested I ask her to teach at a Herbal Gathering I facilitated for my College Senior Project. The Gathering was on Kelleys Island in 1993 . Rose, James Duke and Doug Elliott were the main presenters.

Thanks to Dagmar Celeste for offering the use of her Lakehouse for the Gathering.
Rose loved Kelleys Island.

I continued to bring Rose back to Kelleys, Port Clinton and Southern Ohio for various aromatherapy courses over the years. I can attest to her knowledge of her craft, as she was an excellent teacher.

Rose once asked me to take her to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where she shared the fact that in the 1960’s she had designed many of the Rock Stars costumes. This included the Righteous Brother’s, Jorma Kaukonen and The Jefferson Airplane outfits’. I was doubtful at first of the validity of this statement. However, while at RRHF she saw a car from the distance and said, “That is Janis’s car.” She had known Janis Joplin!

An amazing woman beginning her career in the 1960’s or so, she had to be tough to survive. Rose had a huge heart donating memorabilia to Fur Peace Ranch near Athens, OH. And she gave much of her personal library to The Lloyd Library in Cincinnati. (One of the largest herbal libraries in the USA.)

Rose is responsible for Aromatherapy being what it is today in the USA. Many of you would not know Aromatherapy had it not been for her courses and the books she wrote. Nor would we realize the benefits of essential oils, their uses, precautions, growing conditions and value.

We give gratitude to Jeanne Rose. She was loved and will be missed by many .
