Please join us at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, for an update meeting led by Mississippi Department of Archives & History staff on the column stabilization project underway at Windsor Ruins, the historic site of the Daniell Plantation. To prepare for the site’s re-opening, MDAH is conducting new research to expand the stories about Windsor Ruins that are included in signs at the site and in marketing materials.

The meeting will take place at Alcorn State University's Clinton Bristow Dining Hall located at 1000 ASU Drive, Lorman, Mississippi, 39096. The event is open to the public. The meeting will be recorded and shared on a later date for those who are unable to attend in-person. Email [email protected] for more information.

Please join us at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, when Mississippi Department of Archives & History staff will provide an update on the column stabilization project underway at Windsor Ruins, the historic site of the Daniell Plantation. To prepare for the site’s re-opening, MDAH is conducting new research to expand the stories about Windsor Ruins that are included in signs at the site and in marketing materials. The meeting is open to the public and will take place at the Mississippi Cultural Crossroads, 507 Market Street, Port Gibson, Mississippi, 39150.

The Mississippi Department of Archives & History is taking steps to stabilize the Windsor Ruins site in Claiborne County. More than a century of exposure to the elements has caused erosion to the 45-foot-tall masonry columns and fracturing of the cast iron capitals. Mingo Tingle, chief of technical preservation services at MDAH, describes the work currently underway at Windsor Ruins in the video below.
