Entire books have been written about the language of flowers. Throughout the ages and around the world, different types of flowers have been assigned certain sentiments. The kinds you choose for a funeral floral arrangement can carry subtle meanings, and those meanings can vary from culture to culture. https://bit.ly/3cbA9nM

Our Story
Believed to be one of the oldest businesses on Long Island, O.B. Davis Funeral Homes has provided dedicated service to the Port Jefferson and Brookhaven community for more than 150 years.
The Early Year Of The Funeral Home
The firm was established in 1858 when E.A. Raynor acquired the business from Ambrose T. King, the local undertaker and cabinetmaker in the historic village of Port Jefferson. Upon the death of E.A. Raynor in 1914, his partner Orlando B. Davis took sole ownership of the funeral home and proudly served his community until his death in 1927. In 1935, his family incorporated the business and separated their undertaking services from the furniture business.
Seeing the need for a larger facility, and sticking to its roots of historic Port Jefferson, the Davis family relocated their business to its present-day location at 4839 Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station.
