Summer construction projects are underway! Here are some of the projects that are happening over the next two months:
🚧 A new concrete path from the CHS south parking lot to the John N. Swenning Sr. Field House is being installed. Additionally, we are adding a staircase and walking path from the parking lot directly down the hill to the track. This new walkway/staircase installation will both replace the current asphalt path which is in deteriorating condition, as well as improve access to our track.
🚧 The roof replacement project at CHS is underway. Approved as a proposition by our community in 2023, this project was funded mainly from our Capital Reserve Fund. This roof replacement will both replace outdated materials, and repair numerous leaks throughout the building.
🚧 All of our parking lots are being re-striped. The new line striping enhances driver and pedestrian safety, and replaces faded markings that were originally painted during our parking lot replacement projects as far back as 5 years ago. The lots will be re-striped on a rotating schedule moving forward.
Check back for updates throughout the summer!

Dr. Joe Rella, our beloved late Superintendent of Schools, built a legacy in his community around compassion, philanthropy and mutual support. The district honors his legacy every year with the Joe’s Day of Service project, which launched after Dr. Rella retired in 2018 and took on an even deeper meaning when he passed in 2020. The initiative continues to expand; this year, it featured food- and-supplies drives for various community organizations, heartfelt letter-writing campaigns for veterans, and efforts to support the environment and local ecosystem, among other projects.
