New recipe alert! I found this recipe in my aunt's recipe binder (she passed away a few years ago) and it instantly caught my eye. Plus the page looks well-used 🙂

Here is the recipe for Black Russian Cake. It is a chocolate cake with coffee and a subtle liqueur kick. The alcohol is very subtle and you can barely taste it, but it does make for one good cake.

I have been meaning to put this recipe up on my blog for awhile. It was posted this morning, so check it out if you are looking for a tried and true baked cheesecake recipe.

The filling is velvety-smooth with subtle tartness from the cream cheese. The sweetness from the cherry topping is the perfect compliment.

I've always wanted to try making cream puffs or eclairs, but have been intimidated.
Tried making them today for New Year's Eve. They really weren't that difficult.

The hardest part was piping the shape. I need a little practice....they might not be the prettiest but definitely a success! Next time I will make them a little larger.

I have been too busy this year to bake much for the holidays. I really don't have the motivation...and that's okay.

I did make one small batch of gingerbread cookies and they turned out cute. This is just enough to make me happy and bring a little Christmas spirit without spending all my time in the kitchen.
