Open Hearts of Florida Corporation is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless veterans, individuals who have lost their homes, and those impacted by mental illness. To support this cause, we are requesting donations to purchase cleaning supplies, hygienic toiletries, and twin-size bedding. Some of the items your contribution will help us supply are
Soaps, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Shampoos, first aid kits, and bedding to homeless organizations on the Treasure Coast. By working together, we can positively impact those who may have lost hope and help them feel valued and cared for.

Individuals experiencing homelessness in the US face significant obstacles to self care and personal hygiene, including restricted access to facilities for hand washing, laundry and clean showers.
Without regular access to bathing facilitates, cleanliness proves to be a challenge.

With your contribution, Open Hearts of Florida will provide necessities not covered by government assistance programs that most of us take for granted, such as shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper and other personal care hygiene products.

New week, new opportunities

One-fourth of the 108 million Americans who rent their homes or apartments or live in rental housing pay more than half of their monthly income on rent. That indicates that millions of individuals could lose their homes due to unforeseen expenses. Moreover, since the US unemployment rate increased to 10% during the COVID-19 epidemic, people have been forced to make even more sacrifices to pay their rent, including those for medical, daycare, groceries, and education.
The prospect of eviction has always been present for workers making just enough money each month to cover their rent. But now, many more people are fast turning it into reality. Unfortunately, these impacts will probably continue for a long time and affect several generations of a family.

As we come to the close of 2022 and usher in 2023, we want to take the time to say thank you for your support. We kicked off Open Hearts of Florida in October and have been able to help a few families in our community. We hope to impact more lives in 2023!

According to the US Census , single moms are one of the most disadvantaged groups in the US. Nearly 30% of their families live under the poverty line as compared to 62% of families with married parents. In addition 25 million children are growing up without fathers in the home, that’s 40% of the kids in America, as reported by the center for children and families.
37% of families lead by single mothers nationwide live in poverty.

in 2021 ,12% of the families with a single father live below the poverty level in the United States. Absolute poverty, or destitution, is the inability to afford basic human needs which commonly includes nutrition, healthcare, education, clothing, and shelter.

Open Hearts of Florida Corporation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Florida. We are committed to supporting and elevating under privilege, single-parent families and their children through extensive support programs that include family friendly activities, mentoring programs, financial assistant, employment assistance, and education.

With COVID-19 on the rise through the Country, now more than ever should we follow CDC guidelines, but Not Put Off Flu Vaccine This Year.

Summer is coming to a close, fall is just ahead, and while we look forward to a vaccine for Covid-19, there’s no better time than now to take advantage of flu vaccine. It’s the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones. Unlike Covid-19, most of us have general knowledge about flu season and the flu—a respiratory disease that can lead to serious illness, hospitalization or death. But like Covid-19, flu shares many of the same symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle pain or body aches and headache.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone six months and older get a flu vaccine every year.
