The black walnut pegs will lock the joint together and add a decorative touch. They are purposely not perfectly round.

I am making some round dowels out of square stock to use as pegs for the table leg joints. There are easier ways of doing this but this is more traditional for 1800s furniture.

Hand cut pocket holes for holding the table top on. The screw holes are oversized to allow for wood movement. The tennons will be pegged too. This will be a cute little table.

Next project, Shaker sofa table.

This is what finish a chisel comes out of the box and this is the finish after 8 hours of honing.

The end tables are getting closer to being finished.

Looks like I need to make another drawer. I screwed that up from planing to much off of the corner. Looks like the sofa table is going to have to wait.

Two end tables ready for final sanding and finish.

I am going to try and make the pull k***s for the end table drawers using my drill press. The first one is k**b like lol. This definitely has potential.

What a bummer, I just noticed a 12 inch crack in one of the table tops after surfacing it.

The dovetail joint on this uper divider will add a lot of strength. Paired with the twin tenon and mortise this piece will be around for a long time.

I made a tapering jig for the table legs.

Learning mortise and tenon joinery has been on my todo list for years. These tables will last for a hundred years or more.

My mother passed away a few years ago and shortly after her death I had a dream.
