These Peace Places provide a therapeutic sanctuary for our youth in care, offering them a safe space to relax and heal. Both our kids and foster parents deeply appreciate this thoughtful addition. Thank you for your support and dedication to the well-being of our children. 🧡🤍
🧡A HUGE thank you to Ms. Sara from Tykes & Teens for her insightful session with our foster parents on emotional regulation and creating calm spaces. Our foster parents learned about the profound effects of trauma on the brain, gained a deeper understanding of the behaviors they see, and each received a starter kit to create a calming space at home. 🧠

In honor of Su***de Prevention Month, our colleagues joined the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk to raise awareness and support those impacted by su***de. The Honor Beads offer a way to connect through shared experiences. 'The number of people impacted by su***de brought to light the significance of the need to embrace people and promote spaces of hope and healing,' says LTesha Gamble Pettis of our Allegheny County office.
What's your connection? Share your story and wear your bead proudly. Find your color below and help others know they're not alone.
Happy Grandparents Day to all the wise and wonderful grandparents out there! Thank you for being a guiding light and source of happiness.

Food trauma is an often misunderstood challenge faced by youth in foster care. For many of these young people, food can trigger anxiety and stress instead of comfort and joy.
Our latest blog post, From Scarcity to Security: Food Trauma in Foster Care, explores how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) shape a child’s relationship with food and offers practical strategies to help them heal and thrive.
We invite you to read, reflect, and share this important piece with your network of friends and family. Read the entire article and sign up for more at Cayuga Corner. https://cayugacenters.org/from-scarcity-to-security-food-trauma-in-foster-care/

September is right around the corner! If you’ve been dreading the back-to-school supply run, we’ve got you covered: https://cayugacenters.org/back-to-school-tips-for-foster-parents/
We hope each and every child has a great start to their school year! 🏫📚📝
Shouting out everyone who helped a child out by donating school supplies this year! Read this post to see why your donation matters. ⬇️
How does a simple donation encourage responsibility and organization? Having their own set of supplies teaches students responsibility and organization. When children are provided with the tools they need, they learn to take care of their belongings and manage their resources. This sense of responsibility can extend beyond the classroom, helping them develop essential life skills that will benefit them in various aspects of their lives.
Want to know another way to teach life skills and responsibility? Become a foster parent! CCKids is facing a crisis in foster care. We need more homes – specifically, we need 25 new homes by January 2025. If you would like to learn more, please call (772) 873-7800, and ask for Jerra Wisecup.

At Cayuga Centers, we celebrate the incredible potential of every youth in foster care. 🧡🙌⭐
Every July, we set aside the fourth Sunday of the month to honor the often-overlooked heroes of society: parents. Whether a family is led by two parents, a single parent, or another guardian, these figures are crucial in providing financial support and nurturing emotional growth and development in their children. Parents are constantly making sacrifices to better their children’s lives, and on this day, we encourage everyone to express their gratitude and appreciation. Happy Parents’ Day!
