Gold Star Families Memorial Monument-Port St. Lucie
The monument is dedicated to the families member of the Armed Forces of the U.S. that sacrificed their life for our way of life and the American flag.
The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument honors those families who sacrificed more than most of us, and illustrates that America has citizens in every community and hamlet willing to make such sacrifices. The Memorial monument further illustrates that families suffer and grieve when a dear relative is lost. Without their sacrifices, freedom could not and would not have been preserved.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out offering so much love and support. Please see the links below for a livestream link as well as information about this weekend's events.

Are the reason this nation thrives,
These who have given their sons and daughters,
Their brave heroes who have given their lives."

Gold Star Families Memorial Monument dedication in Port St. Lucie "The monument has been a long work in progress. We've been working on it for a year and half. It took my breath away when I first saw it," said Karen Zook (center), who stands with her husband, Mark, at the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument dedication ceremony Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park in…
Thank you TCPalm for your photo in yesterday's paper.
The last photos until the day of Dedication. Hoping you will join us.
Today they placed the large granite pieces on the base. Not going to show you the front of the pieces. You'll have to come to the dedication to see the completed project, or wait for pictures posted after. Please... if you are coming, remember to bring a chair, seating will be limited.
I was able to go over the the park today to get the photos of the finished base after they got it all cleaned up. We are so close to the Dedication Day!
Today Real Stone & Granite Corporation started setting the granite for the Memorial. First to come is the Base, in 4 sections.
For our Gold Star Families, as seen on 60 Minutes. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/60-minutes-parents-of-fallen-heroes-unite-scott-pelley-2/
Parents of fallen heroes unite to cope with loss They're called "Gold Star Parents" and, once a year, they come together to remember the military heroes who are their children and to share an intimate truth: life is lost, but love does not end
They did the final pouring today. We now have the full platform to place the Gold Star Family Memorial Monument on. Jose' is doing the etching now on the granite, then comes the placement of each piece, the benches and plantings around the base. Dedication still set for Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3pm. Hope you'll be joining us.

Another committee member went to the park today. Looks better after the workmen cleaned everything up.
Another day at Veterans Memorial Park. Today they poured the sidewalk and the platforms that will support the benches. We're getting there. The sky was so blue, that the flags were blowing in the wind, had to take a photo. Then there's 2 of our committee members that just "Had" to clown around. No, they didn't do it, but I'm thinking that just maybe they wanted to.
Three more photos. Taken by Wally Walentiny. He also found a little yellow bird doing the supervising.
Our Day 3 of construction of the base for the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument. Next step is bringing in a machine to shovel in the dirt around the base, and remove any extra. Then they'll be back to pour the sidewalk and the 22' walkway around the monument.
Today was Day 2 for photos. Today they poured the base layer of concrete. Next week there will be another layer poured, and then a final layer that will include the basic platform that we will be walking on. Thank you guys. As far as I can tell, you did a great job.
More photos from yesterday, Roy Brewer and Bob Dadiomoff stopped by the Park also.
Construction has begun!!! So exciting to see the beginning of our Gold Star Families Memorial Monument. They actually started 2 days ago, hoping to star the pouring of the concrete tomorrow.
