This is a break from our normal content, but i need to warn anyone and everyone against this so nobody else gets burned.

For anyone looking for a general contractor or someone help remodel anything for you, STAY AWAY from Dan Conti at D&G Home Remodels. He is extremely unreliable, doesn't show up when he says he is going to, does poor work then ghosts you when it comes time to fix his errors. Shame on me for paying him but what kind of legitimate business takes someone's money then leaves them with a mess?!

We called him out to remodel our shower in the main bath. We expected mold damage behind the shower and asked for worst case scenario quotes. He quoted us $7200 for everything. He said he didn't do plumbing work because he wasn't licensed for it. I assumed this would be included in his quote since he is hiring the plumber he contracts out. Nope. That was an additional $500 on top of the deal. So now we are at $7700.

He tore out the shower and found extensive mold damage behind the wall, which, again, we expected and asked for him to work that into the original quote. He didn't. So he asked for 3k more. We talked him down to 2k more. Now we are at $9700. Then he poured the shower floor so bad that it is wavy and water pools up and won't drain. The pic below is 2 hours after water was poured onto the floor and it can't drain because the floor drain sits higher than the tile. He also used sharpie to mark his cut lines but didn't remove the sharpie after laying the tile.

He then said the plumber was going to come back the next day to install the shower heads. I asked if we had to pay again and he said no. Then turned around the next day and said it would be $250 more. I told him not to even bother. I can install a shower head.

He asked us to pay him as soon as he finished grouting the floor. We were on our way out the door to take Everly somewhere and me, being naieve, paid him in full before we got to test the shower and see how it held the water. I mean, it's his job and we should be able to count on it being done correctly, right? Wrong.

After realizing what happened we fought with him to come back out. This took over a week. He acknowledged his mistake and agreed it was a bad pour. He said he would come back and pull everything up and redo it. He has now skipped out on us twice since promising that. He has not answered a single phone call or text today from me. I've now asked for money back so I can hire someone else to do this and he won't respond.

He has left 3 garbage cans full of debris here that he was supposed to remove. He has a ladder and other various items here. He didn't paint the outside of the house where we had the window closed in and he restuccoed it.

Throughout the entire process, he would work one day then not show up for 2 or 3. It was always some excuse. Now he is just not responding at all. He has chewed up every bit of our savings and left us with a horrible shower that I'm scared to even use. It was also supposed to be a 5 day project and it has been nearly a month. I'm so over it. We spent nearly 11k (because we bought the tile for the project and it was nearly 1k) for this and have s**t work to show for it. Who takes advantage of people like that? How do people have the heart to do something like that?!

I spent most of the weekend decorating my house for Halloween. I'm sore, sunburnt and TIRED! But it makes me excited because we are even closer to Christmas which is the best time of the year. Started making custom signs for the teachers doors for their classrooms. They turned out so cute!

My new work bestie lost her son several months back. The family has ordered a beautiful headstone and the veterans association providing a foot stone. But it will take up to 9 months to be completed and installed on his plot. I made her this temporary marker at her request. Today is his birthday and it will be his first since leaving this earth. I pray for strength for the Lewis family. 🙏✝️

I work at a local school. We have some staff that has these fancy signs outside their doors. This lovely lady is our new testing coordinator. And her favorite color is purple 💜☺️
