Responsibilities include: checking in/out guests, scheduling appointments, answering phones, re-stocking shelves and inventory.

My name is Melissa and I am the owner of Pear & Simple. I opened Pear & Simple on North Franklin Street in Port Washington 10 years ago with my mom and my sister-in-law. We had a shared vision to contribute to revitalizing the retail environment in downtown Port. For me, Pear & Simple would also be a great place to channel my love for Port and my creative energy. When Pear & Simple came to be, I never expected it to be full-time thing for me, but as our families have grown and changed and Pear & Simple has grown, I’ve been able to jump full-time into our delightful retail endeavor – and I absolutely LOVE it! Our brick & mortar store in Port Washington is a fun space, with a feel that “everyone knows your name”. We love welcoming you in to shop and always look forward to the conversations we share while you are here. Last year was challenging, but we seized the opportunity to expand our website and ecommerce business which has allowed us to “make friends” with and share Pear & Simple far beyond the borders of Port Washington. The things that excite me the most are: celebrating and encouraging others, identifying and DOING the things you love, and my sweet little family and Port Washington (it really is “pinch me” perfect here).
