Fresh from a trip to Uruguay and Argentina, award-winning artist Diego Monterrubio will present his work at the Taft College Art Gallery starting Thursday.
The artist's bright and colorful work — including graphic novels, paintings, sculptures and general illustrations — encourages the audience to "travel vicariously" through his imagery and "fall into the social and emotional motivations that drive the subjects in each piece of art."
Of his recent travels, which included displaying his work at the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay, the artist told The Californian,"This trip has been spectacular, to say the least. I have been given this special life because of art. I enjoyed sharing stories with people from both countries and shared stories of my beloved people from the San Joaquin Valley."
