And we’re back! Well, sort of... Beginning next Monday and Tuesday we’ll be offering a weekly pickup meal for two. This week will feature a couple Bollywood Theater favorites, beets and pork vindaloo (seriously, thanks for all the “we miss your beets” messages, us too). As well as rice pudding with strawberries, rhubarb and ajwain crumble. And oh yeah, a pint of cold chai ready to be reheated (or crack that pint on the way home!) I opened Bollywood Theater on a serious shoestring. I would buy things as we could afford them...a robot coup here a few new pans there. A bunch of cambros. The staff later told me that it made them feel safe and gave them the belief that we were going to make it. Well we just had the floors in the kitchen redone. WE’RE GOING TO MAKE IT!Believe that. About to get real up in here. Come on by for some free food, Division Street, 3-5. Be patient and kind, we just spent 6 hours putting it all in pints.

We have some food, you’re gonna be stuck at home. So we’re going to package it up and will give away tomorrow (Tuesday) between 3-5 at our Division location. We’ll spread it out to avoid crowds! Bring a bag! You can also purchase some rice, lentils or spices from our store if you’d like, cards only. Last Bollywood Theater for a while.

Like so many of our peers, we are temporarily closing for the safety of our staff and the general public. We are heartbroken for our staff members and will pay them through the end of this week. We will also honor our healthcare commitments through end of April. We ❤️ you Portland...stay safe out there.

The bad news is that our water heater broke on Alberta. 😬 Afraid we’re going to be closed for a couple days. The good news is that Division is open and they have lots of hands to make delicious food! Please give them a visit as there are 2 restaurants worth of prep ready to go. On Alberta we get to spend a couple rare closed days to paint and clean. We think we’ll be open on Thursday night.
