“Wait, they’re more than a test?!” That’s right, ACT Student has resources that support every student’s journey, college or otherwise. They’re also our new client and a wonderful group of humans we had the pleasure of collaborating with on an anthem video that sets the tone for their new brand and marketing efforts. We’re so excited to see it launch! Thank you for your partnership and a big tip of the cap to the mad scientist David Emmite .tv and Chip Sloan for helping us stick the landing.
LOVE GETS REAL: New logo and tagline work for Oregon Wild captures their mission to keep our state’s beloved wild places safe. Much of the wilderness, wildlife, and waters we assume are protected are actually continually under threat (logging, mining, development, etc.) Oregon Wild goes where nature can’t: relentlessly working to create lasting legal, political, and cultural solutions to protect the wild. Oregon has called; it’s in us to answer. 🌲🐻🦅🌱

Moccamaster iconic machine needs no introduction. But a special, limited edition Diamond finish to celebrate 60 YEARS(!) of coffee brewing and design perfection? Bring on the va-va-voom. This spring’s launch of the Moccamaster 60th Anniversary Diamond Edition features a sassy & sparkly identity package, with social posts, emails and landing page design, plus tradeshow booth and video design (🙌) at IHA’s Inspired Home Show and SCA’s Specialty Coffee Expo in Chicago. And before you ask: real diamonds? We’ll never tell…💎
Is Market of Choice looking especially fresh this Spring or what? Have a look at the fun, new (and very Oregon, we might add) brand refresh rolling out as you read. We are so proud to see this independent, Oregon-owned store owning the space it’s meant for: raising up the local, family-run makers, growers, ranchers, dreamers and do’ers our state is so chock full of. Definitely a labor of love for us. Keep an eye out — though hopefully it will be hard to miss ;-)
Big shoutout to Rose Haven for having Grady Britton out to support your amazing mission. You're doing important work and we're proud to be a part of it.
Bob, you created a business that led with heart and made everyone better for it. For your partnership, leadership, and friendship – thank you from all of us.

“It’s so obvious… that it’s not. How to run a business, that is. First, make something you love. That way, it’s hardly work at all.
Then make it as well as humanly possible. Pour your soul into it. Your back too.
Focus on the Thing, not the money. That’ll generally take care of itself. Do it honestly. With integrity. Tell the truth, no mumbo jumbo. Don’t get greedy, don’t cut corners.
Smile whenever possible.
Treat people with respect. Your suppliers. Your employees. Your partners. Most of all, the people that buy that Thing.
Charge a fair price. Just what you need to keep things going. Then, keep things going. Even when you could cash out.
Why? Because way back at the start, there’s another obvious thing that even geniuses forget. That Thing you make, that Thing you love-- it should be a good thing in some way.
After all, isn’t that the point? Isn’t that why we’re here?
To help one another. To add something. Make folks a little happier, a little healthier for doing what you do.
And here’s one last obvious thing — if all goes right, you turn down all the deep pocket suitors. And just give the operation — the whole sh’bang — to your employees instead.
Okay, maybe that last part isn’t obvious. To anybody but Bob. Bob’s Red Mill.”

Thank you to every Portland nonprofit that took time to apply to our 2023 grants! We’re so excited to share that we've chosen our winners: Stone Soup PDX for the marketing grant and Rose Haven for the volunteer grant! Stone Soup provides workforce development and culinary training to individuals at risk of homelessness in the Portland area. We'll be giving them $25k of in-kind marketing services and working together over the next year. Rose Haven’s mission is to break the homelessness cycle for women, children, and gender-diverse individuals, right here in Portland. We'll be providing them with 150 volunteer hours to help sort and provide supplies throughout the year. While we are thrilled to partner with these two local non-profits, we also want to take a moment to honor every single applicant. Your commitment to making a difference is awe-inspiring, and your applications were incredibly impressive.
