“The deaths of Americans we have witnessed due to insulin rationing and other medication costs need to be left in the past as we move toward a future where health care and prescription medications are considered a human right. We can begin to achieve that goal by including everyone, especially people without insurance, in the expanded $35 cap on insulin and $2,000 cap on prescription drugs.”

Trauma, PBMs, & State Based Single Payer Health Insurance A free public service for a better community
A conservative case for single-payer health care The U.S. government should provide health insurance for every one of its citizens. This is very conservative — at least if the word still means anything.

A January 2024 survey “found that 16% of [health] systems are planning to stop accepting one or more plans in the next two years.

BREAKING: new article from WSJ details exactly how insurance companies repeatedly lie about patient diagnoses in order to make bigger profits, going so far as to claim patients have conditions that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for them to have!
These tactics meant an extra $50 BILLION in taxpayer dollars over three years went to insurance companies for diagnoses THEY ADDED to patient charts.
We’re sick of these companies putting profits over people. We need immediate accountability and a healthcare system that works for all.
"'Provider' suggests that medicine is about money, not care. Payers may see medicine as transactional in terms of generating RVUs or revenue, but physicians need not sit idly by as care is commodified and medicine is turned into a business.
Physicians' work cannot be boiled down to coding and billing, nor are we merely dispensing tests, medicines, and procedures. Instead, our very reason for being, which should inform everything we do, is to care for patients."
It’s time to move beyond 'provider' Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words can also harm us. One such word is provider. When used to refer to physicians, it damages every medical professional’s morale, sense of worth, and fulfillment. It undermines our sense of calling.
If physicians tell us administrative burden is a problem, and researchers tell us administrative burden is a problem, and common sense tells us administrative burden is a problem—then we should do something about administrative burden.
