She cut herself on the thorns and as her blood dripped on the berries they turned red. That’s the legend behind the name of our newest cocktail - Ida’s Bramble. Hot days call for air conditioning and new cocktails! The Caribbean Summer is a twist the classic daiquiri featuring a blend of rums, pineapple, lime, molasses and jerk spices that will help keep you cool and will have your taste buds craving more.
It’s gonna be a hot one out today, unfortunately our back of the house isn’t as equipped as we would like to handle these temperatures and keep our staff safe and comfortable during service so we will be closed for service today for the safety of our kitchen staff. 🚨 New Cocktail 🚨 The ‘Black Lodge’ has a whole lot going on flavor wise. It’s a split base cocktail with equal parts Fernet-Branca and Aquavit, lemon juice provides a nice acidic backbone and it’s rounded out with some honey, beet syrup and touch of cold brew coffee concentrate. It’s a bizarrely delicious herbal and vegetal concoction that we think you will enjoy as much as we do. Just a reminder that we are back to serving 6 days a week!
🚨 New Cocktail 🚨 The ‘Cherry Bomb’ is a tall and refreshing vodka based summer cocktail. We start with some cherry bark vanilla bitters, add some sour cherry syrup, citrus, amontillado sherry and a little cappelletti for balance, give it a good shake and toss a splash of ginger beer in there to round everything out. A perfect cocktail to enjoy out on the patio on a nice sunny day. Currently we are moving into our summer cocktail menu so you can look forward to a big menu flip over the next couple of weeks. Not only are we now open on Mondays but it’s also Portland Margarita Week! The cocktail we served last year was such a hit we decided to bring it back again this years. The ‘Sunspot’ featuring blanco Tequila, lime, blood orange and almond orgeat. It’s a little tart, creamy and very refreshing. Plus when you get one of these you are supporting a good cause, for every Sunspot sold $4 will be donated to El Patojismo, a organization founded by Juan Pablo Romero in Guatemala to provide a safe and inclusive space for local youth to learn and grow. And just a reminder that our new hours of operation are Monday-Saturday from 4-midnight.
How time flies!!! We will be open tomorrow from 4-8 to celebrate Deadshot turning 4 years old. This will not be a normal service for us, much more casual, like a birthday party should be. We will have a drink specials and some food available, but not our regular menus. Might even see a couple of former bartenders behind the bar. It’s going to be a beautiful day and we would love to see those friends, family and guests that have gotten us to this point, it’s been a wild 4 years so come party with us!
Back by popular demand!! This cocktail was one of our most popular drinks a couple years back so we figured why not bring it out of retirement for a bit. Deadfast v.3 - toasted rice infused rye whiskey, citrus, coconut milk, passionfruit, hibiscus and almond orgeat. This bad boy has a lot going on flavor wise and is perfect for those sunny days outside. Which hopefully we will be seeing lot more of very soon.
Recently our very own Matt Gumm participated in a cocktail competition sponsored by Woodford Reserve, we liked the drinks he put up so much we figured might as well put one on our regular menu. He calls this one ‘Chai Fidelity’, we start with a base of overproof Bourbon and mix it up with pear liqueur, carrot juice, chai tea syrup, dry curaçao, lemon juice and a few dashes of Angostura. It’s a refreshing and complex cocktail that has been a crowd favorite in its first week on the menu. Come give it a taste for yourself. Cheers!
If you have visited Deadshot anytime in the last 3 years you have probably seen this face. Tonight will be behind the bar for his last shift with us. After moving to Portland from San Diego he was a hardcore regular from the beginning, in fact he was hanging out at the bar so much that suggested that we offer him a job. Starting as a server and he quickly moved into a position behind the bar. It’s been amazing to watch his journey as someone with little bartending experience to a badass behind the stick. Through the ups and does of the last couple of years he could always be counted on to give 110% every shift he worked. We wish him all the best in his next endeavor and look forward to seeing him on the other side of the bar in the future. We will miss you Grandpa!
Perfect day to sit outside and enjoy our spring Daiquiri. We use a blend of white rums for the base, add a little Singani 63 for some floral notes, rhubarb syrup, lime juice and balance everything out with some Aperol. The result is a refreshing and complex take on one of our favorite classic cocktails.
