Debbie recently enrolled in a NECA estimating class where her team got first place with a near-perfect score of 99.3% accuracy on their final.

Congratulations, Debbie and her entire team on their hard work! It clearly paid off!

Last week, some of our offices hosted Bring Your Child to Work day! We had such a great turnout, and kids and parents alike had a wonderful time.

The kids spent the day learning about many aspects of our business including BIM & IT, Detailing, Marketing, and Prefabrication.

Thank you to everyone who participated, and we'd like to give a HUGE thank you to all our employees who volunteered their time during the day to ensure this event was a huge success. We can't wait to have everyone here next year!

Recently, TJ Brinkman, son of OEG employee Travis Brinkman, completed a food pantry for the Rose Valley Grange as part of his Eagle Scout project.

TJ recruited friends to help construct the new wooden structure, demonstrating leadership by coordinating with others as part of the project requirements.

The shed was officially completed and marked with a commemorative plaque, which TJ recently installed. Now that the shed is complete the food pantry will begin providing free food for anyone who needs it. Visitors are also welcome to drop off spare food.

OEG is proud to have supported this project and this remarkable young man for his contributions to his community.

Recently, we presented an grant check to the Portland Workforce Alliance!

The Portland Workforce Alliance is an independent nonprofit that sees young people as the key to the region’s long-term economic prosperity and quality of life. They work with local employers like OEG to educate students about career opportunities as part of a strategy to boost Oregon’s graduation rate and build a resilient, prosperous, and well-educated workforce.

Their reasons for action are simple.

They want to meet the region’s workforce needs by helping young Oregonians find educational paths to good careers and family-wage jobs. They know that career-learning experiences motivate students to succeed academically and continue their education after high school, and they know that students are far more likely to stay in school if they see the relevance of their education and have relationships with caring adults.

Congratulations to this extremely deserving organization!

Yesterday was Pi Day (3.14) and some of our offices really showed up for the occasion!

In Hillsboro, our employees brought in pies and enjoyed them together, while our Pride office in Redmond, WA held a competition having employees be taste testers and judges! They even capped off the celebration with pizza (pie)!

Melanie Prentice recently received the 2023 Summit Award, which honors employees who have achieved significant results in making their companies a better place to work.

Since joining OEG in 2014, Melanie has consistently looked for ways to make our company an amazing workplace. She is passionate about finding ways to include and recognize all OEG team members.

Last year, Melanie led our employee engagement committee, which was established to increase engagement and bring positivity to the workplace. Through her leadership, the committee planned creative local activities and supported all of our office locations with engagement ideas.

Melanie's humble and kind approach embodies our core value of respect for the individual. She ensures each person feels included and valued.

Let's all give a huge congratulations to Melanie! This recognition is very well deserved.

Last week, our Mesa, Arizona office collected over 65 stuffed animals and countless chocolates for the children at Sunshine Acres Children’s Home to celebrate Valentine's Day. Sunshine Acres is a foster home with 65 children whose mission is to provide a loving home for children who are separated from their parents, while helping them establish long-term relationships with stable parental figures, preparing them for success in adult life. Vendors and employees came together to donate items and make this event possible. Thank you to everyone who participated in showering these kids with love ❤️

In celebration of Valentine's Day yesterday, our offices all took part in candle-making during lunch.

Employees were able to choose the color and scent of their candles and pour them by hand as a gift for their loved ones.

We had such a great time getting together and taking part in this fun activity! We hope the recipients of your candles loved them as much as we did.

Friday was National Wear Red Day and our employees showed up!

National Wear Red Day is the first Friday in February,
and is part of American Heart Month, which is dedicated to raising awareness about heart health throughout February.
