Sometimes while sewing you do what was pinned and it just doesn’t look right. A good tailor (like me 😉) will stop and reevaluate.

The James dress by doesn’t have a traditional side seam in the bodice. This dress needed to come in 2.5” in the bust and waist! After taking it in on the diagonal just out of the crepe, I decided I needed to take it in 1/3 from the lace and 2/3 from the crepe instead so the end result wasn’t so sharp.

B***s. I’ve said it before and l’ll say it again. It’s all about making the b***s look good. Sometimes dresses are patterned weird or your cup size just isn’t size the designer arbitrarily decided on. That’s ok, because we got you! 🧵 🪡

Both of these photos are the original dress and then after altering for the 2nd fitting. They are in progress so seam allowances are not fully trimmed and necklines/armholes are not closed up.

Darn it! 😉 But, seriously, we can darn almost anything and give you more time with your favorite well worn garments.

Original hems: you ask for them, we just make them look good! Most places don’t do cuffable original hems. But we do 🙌

Even basic alterations like hemming pants take a number of steps. Here, Nina breaks it down for you. These pants also have a side slit we replaced. Great job, Nina 👏 👏

Hand darning brings us joy. Not having holes in your clothes brings you joy. It’s a win win 😊🪡🧵

A couple photos from the alteration process. There was too much fabric above the chest, so we extended the bust dart into a front princess seam to the shoulder. Plus shortened the straps and took in the sides. Looking good, Lindsay!

This bride was on the fence about the bustle. ALWAYS get a bustle installed or at least a wrist loop. Great for photos before hand if you will be outdoors and of course for dancing. Plus, they look cool 🧵
