JUST BLOGGED//🌲Portland transplants Allison and Dan are understandably smitten with their new home – and when it came time to plan their wedding, they wanted to share their love of the Pacific Northwest with their mostly East Coast guest list.

And did they ever! Crafting a full-on wedding weekend capturing both the natural grandeur and urban charm of the area, this Jewish wedding has it all: trees, bold colors, and of course Portland’s trademark quirky character at full strength.

We’re absolutely in love with Allison and Dan’s outdoor chuppah set in a clearing amidst Hoyt Arboretum’s lush evergreens, made of dark, natural wood and adorned with a canopy of greenery and roses in hues of white, soft oranges and corals - stunning doesn’t even begin to describe it!🌲{LINK IN BIO}

If you’ve been following along long enough you know what makes Dream Cakes: one part wedding cakes full of dairy+love and one part VEGAN cakes by the slice to be purchased (RIP), , (RIP?), and , also full of love!

My humble beginning started in 2010 (before social media was even a tool to document my ventures) with and whom gifted me the opportunity to start my career which is now Dream Cakes.

As a small business owner I find it important to pay homage to your humble beginnings; to the people who got you where you are today. I also think it’s important to pass the torch when the light starts to dim. As I look back I remember this girl in her 20’s who was hungry and elated to even have the opportunity to be surrounded by such talented people who believed in me, guided me to today.

I’ve been observing for nearly a year now and I see that same hungry light in her. It is with great honor to gift the opportunity of career building! The “one part VEGAN cakes” that is Dream Cakes will officially belong full part to starting July 1st!

This is not a decision I’ve made lightly. My beloved “bar cake” accounts ARE my babies, who I kind of see as going off to college. will bring an excitement to them (to you) that I could not. Shining brighter than ever, I look forward to watching her grow!

As for me, I’ll still be here honing my wedding cake craft. This is where my light still shines the brightest!

(oh by the way, I’ve never been vegan, just respect the s**t out of it, Allie is vegan, so trust me you’re in much better hands)!

This is a very special collab for me because we all start somewhere, right? I moved to Portland in 2008 went to Oregon Culinary Institute, where Chef Hall paved the way for my future. He is my first teacher, the first person to show me how to decorate with a bench scraper instead of an offset, I still use that technique to this day. It’s an honor to now share my kitchen space with and we’re kicking it off with a Valentine/Anti-Valentine collab!!

Here are a few reasons why sitting down for a consultation is important… First- it’s the best opportunity to get to know your vendors and ensure we’re a great fit, especially vendors like me where there’s usually only one face to face interaction. It’s basically a vibe check. Second- it gets us (your vendors) hyped for your event! I pretty much always remember that first interaction and we ACTUALLY get stoked to be a part of your love story!
