A new day is dawning. I can barely put into words what Maine Leather Company means to me. For nearly a decade this has been my purpose, my place of solace and a source of endless joy. There is no limit to what you can learn from carving out your own path in life.
In recent years, I’ve spent more and more time out of my studio with the other love of my life, someone who, I can now publicly admit, I’ve been in love with since I was a teenager.
In this new chapter, I will continue to stitch leather goods by hand, in Italy for a bit, and then eventually back here in Maine. So, if anyone asks - let them know: Belle Hilmer is the one making all them sick hand stitched leather goods now, and forever.
