It’s baaaaack! The Peach Orange Cran is available in our taphouse and very limited locations around Portland. Don’t sleep on this fan favorite! It’s won’t be around for long!!! Taphouse is open this week Thursday through Sunday. We are closed the next two weekends to celebrate the holidays with our families.

Dear Alter Ego Friends and Family,


Three years ago in September, we moved into our shared cidery/winery on SE 7th Ave in Portland. It has been an exciting and at times scary three years for us, in which we were able to make and pour countless great ciders, meet new friends and customers, and share many good times with you in our space.


When we moved into our facility in 2018, we shared the space with our sister company, Helioterra Wines (fully owned by Alter Ego partner, Anne Hubatch). It was, and has been a great opportunity for both businesses. The partnership has helped both of us to grow, as well as weather a very challenging last 18 months through the pandemic.

Unfortunately, over these last three years, Alter Ego hasn’t been able to achieve its goals with the space and we have decided to focus our efforts around growing our distribution instead of our retail presence.


Beginning mid-September, Helioterra will be taking over our taphouse space and production facility. Beginning in mid-September the taphouse will transition to Helioterra’s wine tasting room.


We will host one last party in the building on Saturday, September 4th from 3-6pm. We invite you to stop in, have a cider and take some home with you for one last time in our space. Anne and Kevin will be on hand to share this time with everyone, and we will offer growler fill discounts for your home enjoyment.


Moving forward, we will be looking for new and different ways to bring our products to you. Helioterra will continue to carry Alter Ego’s packaged products, so you will still be able to drop in and pick up a 6-pack or a case of cider. Cider drafts and growler fills will be discontinued at the Helioterra tasting room.


We appreciate the time we have had together in our taphouse over the past three years. We love our customers. It has been rewarding, humbling and lots of fun. We will miss having this way to connect with you.

Due to extreme heat we will not be opening our patio today, but have a few seats indoors, 8 to be exact! We are open from 2-5pm for cider/wine tasting or carry-out! Stay cool Portland, this heat is no joke!!!

We did a thing. A super cool and fun thing with these lovely people! Yesterday, we launched a snakebite collab with called the Jens Royale. It’s a blend our our Dark Royale cider and their Jens Bailed Grisette. Just look at that color (in Sara’s glass!) She’s a beauty… and she tastes great too! Available only at both taphouse locations.
