In response to the flooding, Northstar has prioritized shipping replacement colors to Mountain Art Glass in Eugene. We understand how crucial it is for artists to have access to the materials they need, and we are doing everything we can to support their operations during this recovery phase.

As Mountain Art Glass evaluates the damage and begins the recovery process, they will need our collective support. Whether it’s placing orders, sharing encouragement, or helping spread the word about their resilience, every effort counts. Heading home from the is always a bittersweet experience. It’s incredible to meet and see all our friends and family, as it never fails to inspire us. The team at MGP is constantly improving, and their dedication is evident year after year. Witnessing our community come together for such a worthy cause only reinforces the strength and commitment we have, especially during challenging times. I’m eagerly looking forward to next year’s event.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has made this dream come true for the youth of Detroit. The opportunity to support this event annually is truly amazing, and witnessing its growth is even more remarkable. It was also heartwarming to discuss Northstar with everyone and feel the ongoing support for our work. We are united in this journey, and together, we will overcome any obstacles that come our way!

Northstar Glass has been making colored borosilicate for artists since 1989. We have always been the top supplier of colored borosilicate glass to lampworkers around the world. We invented the tools and know how to produce colored borosilicate on a large scale to supply the ever growing demand. After 35 years we have finally seen a huge dip in color sales to the tune of a 60% drop in the market. We know the community is having a hard time as well. We are making this post to let everyone know what’s going on with us. Last month we sent letters to our distributors letting them know that there may be a disruption in supply if sales don’t pick up. This could mean we shut our production down for a period of time or change the way we sell color as a whole. We have filled most of all distributors orders so make sure to stock up on your favorite colors. We are still producing color each day with a smaller crew than the past. Our staff is also committed to be here so we can make what y’all need. We are not sure of the future but we are dedicated to be here for the long haul. Please contact your distributors for availability of items. Don’t forget you can always contact us directly as well to get updates and availability through distributors.

The last color for the 4/19 drop at 9am is the multi-layered color combo that is just electric, yielding bright magenta pinks and purples! This combo uses TAG-054 Pink Slyme over NS-85 Poppy. With the bright cadmium Poppy orange/red behind the milky opal pink, this combo really pops at you! Some color variation and air content is to be expected with Pink Slyme.
Limited availability. This color combo has been so sweet we also had to share the pieces that our good friends made with it! This will sell out fast no question so don’t sleep.
