So!!!!! We are back on the Hacienda CDC/Portland Mercado terrible treatment of their small businesses.
Erick Caravantes and Telma Aquino who own Kaah Market at the Mercado have been given a no reason termination of their lease. They have until November 1st to be out of the Mercado.
Kaah Market has been an anchor in the Mercado since the beginning. And it feels like the new Cascade Management team wants to drive Erick and Telma out for good. They had previously kicked Don Bigote out of the Mercado as well(Erick ran that shop).
What we are asking:
1. Get into the market before it closes(Nov. 1st) and let the family know how much you have loved having them at the Mercado. Spend your dollars too!
2. If anyone knows of a space they can bring their shop to. Preferably a place that is ready to go for a market, but if it needs some work, let's keep those options open as well.
Thanks for listening to another rant and request to help out a small business at a place that should be doing a better job of assisting/incubating small businesses and helping them move on, rather than just kicking them out.
