Recently I’ve been transitioning more women from individually bonded extensions to hand tied hair.

I’ve noticed some commonalities with the people that transition from individual bonded extensions like microlinks, k-tip, or even tape-ins.
-They felt like they were exchanging one insecurity for another.

The nature of individually bonded extensions does not offer the same capability of customization between both the color and the haircut. It is also extremely hard to conceal those bonds when you put your hair up, and my guests with fine hair may have found it impossible.

Beyond the capability for the ultimate amount of customization with hand tied hair, one of the biggest benefits going into the summer is that it is a continuous stream of hair which creates a seamless result from root to tip.

But aside from that one of my biggest concerns is maintaining the health and integrity of your scalp to promote further hair growth.

As you can tell from the picture, very little of your hair and your scalp are actually impacted during the 6 to 8 weeks between your move up appointments.

The majority of my extension clients come to me with pre-existing health conditions that impact the density of their hair in the first place. so it’s important to me to give them the best fighting chance to sustain and promote hair growth.

One of the happiest moments that I get in the salon is to see guest that have been working with me for a while to be able to evolve there look.

When your ends are fuller and you fill in the space around your face that tends to get thin very easily, that will not only give you more volume but I will make your hair appear longer. Because the eye is drawn to where the thickest point of your hair is.

We can use that theory to our benefit by altering the shape and silhouette to highlight, contour, or enhance certain areas and features that best compliment you are unique face shape, and body type. Every weft is custom colored, and I layer 3-6 shades with your wefts to create a very natural and luminous color.

These wefts are stitched in one continuous row to ensure that no matter how you away, where the wind blows, or how you like to style your hair… no one will be able to clock your extensions. Maybe if they are 2 inches away from your scalp, but even then they are pretty seamless.

🖤I am inspired by growth and evolution in all areas of life. Attainable proof that things are progressing is very inspiring to be whether that be in physical fitness, distances that I can hike, or any professional skills.

🖤a story that makes me laugh recently takes place at the gym. My mom and I were working out together and we got locked out of our locker. I find an attendant at the reception desk to come unlock it. As we are walking up the stairs he tells me “ you know, I see you all of the time and you remind me of Wednesday Adams. And I thought it was because I wore two braids and blunt bangs… he followed that up with “yeah because you just have this deadpan look, always. You might be having fun but all I see is 😑.”
In reality I am a sweet little jelly bean, but I can see how I might look unapproachable in the wild.😆

🖤And to top it off I love what I do and who I work with.
In any professional setting there will always be people that come along that might not be your cup of tea, and i respect that.
There was a large portion of my career where I was riding the people pleasing-sacrificing-burnout train….

The answer is yes.
I focus heavily on customization and believable results.
That means that not only is each weft is rooted and colored specially to you.
But now we have more texture options to choose from to match your texture.

💛We all know the short answer; 6-8weeks.
✨But what is my artistic philosophy? I’m all about Lazy-Luxury.
💛Yes you should refresh your color every 6-8 weeks, especially if you have an all over base color.
✨However, my dimensional or multi-tone gals listen up.

Here is your plan for the entire year

How often should I cut my hair if I want to grow it out?

Your hair starts to split around the 12 week mark. This is prime time for an overall cut to make sure than your hair is thriving, and to maintain your style.

“Why doesn’t my hair look this healthy all of the time?”

You only see your stylist 6-8 times a year, maybe even less. We can work all of our magic, and use all of the treatments. But the consistency that you have with your home care is essential to keeping you hair in tip top shape.

Here are my foundation recommendations, everything else on top is an added bonus.

Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s Extensions.

We have all heard that extensions are bad for your hair, that they ruin your hair, or that they don’t look natural. We have even seen celebrities sporting some not so desirable looks.

I want to help you reframe that though.
This guest had been trying to grow her hair, but the front kept breaking before we could get any length.
She had struggled with thyroid disorders and hormonal changes that drastically impacted her hair. Through a consistent product Regimen we did see improvements here, But we still were not seeing any length.

So we explored the option of hair extensions. With Natural Beaded Rows we have very few points of constant. So I wasn’t worried about the health of her scalp or the impact that it may have in her already fragile hair.

Not only were we able to give her that immediate confidence and that immediate satisfaction of volume in length, but over the course of time was wearing extensions we were able to grow her hair longer than before.

How often should I come in to maintain a Dimensional Color, or lived in blonde?

In my opinion this is a high maintenance to be low maintenance situation.
Anytime that you are seeing a new stylist, or changing your style you will be sitting through a longer and more involved appointment.

But what is the Maintenance?
Even though these looks are lower maintenance, in order to keep it low maintenance I recommend coming in every 6-8 weeks. Stretching your appointments out will still mean that we have a lot of work to do in the salon.

Here is my prescription to keep your style looking fresh all year round, after all your hair IS your crown.

1st appointment - Overhaul
2nd - Tone,Root, and treatment
3rd - Face Frame, Tone, Trim
4th - Partial, Root, Tone
5th - Tone, Treatment and Trim
6th - Overall Update.

2 and a half years later her natural hair is what her inspo photo was then.

We started rehabbing severely damaged hair In 2019. Neither one of us would believe that her hair would be this long or this healthy so soon.

Now we are plotting her bronde 22” dreams.

Bleach Free Brightness?

Most people can handle some amount of bleach, but some people cannot.
This lovely human has a past with auto-immune and thyroid conditions. Even after overcoming those conditions her hair is still effected by her hormones.

It is very common for people who have struggled with the thyroid issues to have more brittle hair. Her hair has made leaps and bounds since changing her hair care routine, but we cannot lighten and grow her hair.

We’ve been growing out breakage from tight ponytails for a while and we reached the decision to not touch her hair with bleach.

So how can we create more lightness to her grown out Balayage?
I put in 2 thin rows of NBR extensions that were custom colored and rooted.
She was a perfect candidate for just 1 row since we wanted fullness and not length. But we added 2 rows to give her more density in the front and sides since that was her main area of concern.
