Scholar’s Week at Western Washington today. Of course I am biased but I was blown away by Emiel’s presentation on Flow Proportional Sampling of Amphetamines in Wastewater. Such hard work, early mornings, late nights and calculations. I can’t even begin to understand.

Adding to the aurora instagram fodder today. The most amazing moment after getting over the initial awe of the first explosion of light and color was watching the slice of moon turn red at the horizon on the left, with the aurora light show on the right. Then for an instant a shooting star passed between the two. Just a moment of magic we get to have living here on this planet. Reverence and gratitude.
