What a pleasure it was to host a roundtable discussion led by US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and NY Congressman Pat Ryan! The conversation centered around career pathway programs and highlighted the vital role of career and technical education. Students, district superintendents, and industry leaders took part, making it an interesting and well-rounded conversation.

Honoring , the anniversary of the day the last enslaved Americans in Galveston, TX were informed of their freedom. Today we shine a spotlight on the XXV Army Corps, comprised almost entirely of African American soldiers, who played a pivotal role in spreading the news!

Celebrating the power of research! 🔬✨ Under the expert guidance of Associate Professor of Physics Dr. Manish Jadhav, two CSTEP students presented their findings at the SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference this spring! A big shout-out to our recent grads, Jr. Hill and Kalegnon Dogba-Gobehi!

What an honor it was to welcome bright minds from across the Mid-Atlantic region for the Beacon Conference last Friday! 📚🔬💡Community college students from as far away as Maryland presented their undergraduate research on a variety of subjects—from anthropology to technology and everything in between. Special thanks to biology faculty members Mariana Melo and Mark Condon for organizing such an important event.

Faculty and staff joined the festivities at the Poughkeepsie Pride Parade and Festival this past weekend!

Assistant professor of business Maureen Gittleman represented DCC's cannabis retail management microcredential at this week's Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo, the premier cannabis business-to-business expo and conference on the East Coast.

Student Trustee Maya Chinkan was awarded a framed resolution commending her year of service on the DCC Board of Trustees! Thanks for all your hard work, Maya!

This past spring semester, the students in Professor Holly McCabe's Introduction to Graphic Design class worked on a service learning project with the LGBTQIA+ committee to design a logo and banner for the upcoming Poughkeepsie Pride march! The chosen design was created by Visual Arts student Alicia Smith and she is pictured here with Professor Lindsey Guile who is chair of the committee!
