Meet Lilia. She joined the Smokin J’s crew while she was but a wee lass in high school and it has been an absolute pleasure to get to watch her grow up with us, going from a spunky kid with a bright smile figuring out her first job, to a wonderful, confidant adult, slinging bbq and dealing with our customers with an emotional maturity that I could only dream of at that age. If you’re having a bad day, come to Smokin J’s and Lilia’s smile will make it better. If you’re having a good day, come give her a high five and make it a GREAT day.

Smokin J's friends, allow me to introduce you to the backbone behind all the delicious food coming out of our kitchens, our executive chef, Jason. What can we say about Jason? He is one of the hardest working people we have ever hired. He came on as a line cook when we were struggling to find staff to fill our kitchen in Poway and fit in to our culture immediately. He was almost immediately taking on responsibilities of higher positions and filling in when our chef or sous had days off, and when our former chef moved up to Oregon, Jason seamlessly filled the roll. He is the type of person that the whole company instantly bonds with and he is the type of guy that will almost drop an armful of boxes to playfully flick you off while he walks past. The best thing about Jason is that he always has a smile on his face, even when you call him up in the morning to let him know that the catering planned for the evening just upped their headcount by 20 people and he needs to magically double the amount of ribs we are smoking on the day. I mean, in that scenario you may also hear some choice words, but they are all said while smiling ;).
