Champagne is upon us for the New Year!
We will be open at regular hours through the week. Tables are walk-in only, though we do have a waitlist if we become full!
This weekend only, we will have two lovely choices of champagne.
These two wines pair nicely with both robust and light flavors.
We will be selling Grand Cordon Brut for $15/glass or $50/bottle. Grand Cordon is a drier, light champagne with apricot, orange peel, nut and smoke.
We also have a single bottle of grand Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque from 2014. It will come in its case and includes two branded complementary champagne flutes, priced at $250.
Happy New Year and hope to see you soon!

Our restaurant is growing, and we are now looking for a full-time professional bartender!
With our sushi being the quality that it is, we would like a bar with fresh and creative ingredients to match.
We are looking for someone who has several years of bartending and managing experience. We are a professional yet friendly, approachable, and fun place to work, and we'd like to keep that vibe.
Hours are somewhat flexible, 5-6 days a week from 4pm-close (around 10pm). Hourly pay will be competitive and based on management experience, as well as receiving a 10% tipout on alcohol sales.
Please tag anyone you may know of and give us an email at [email protected]! Thank you!!
How Tamago is made!
Tamago, the Japanese word for "egg," is a very popular sushi in Japan. Fluffy and the slightest bit sweet, it's popular with kids and as a light dessert at the end of your sushi meal!
The video also details the different flavors, textures, and tastes that are present in so many different fish. Each fish has a season and an area it comes from at its best.
๐ Hey, sushi eatersโฆ did you know that we have an occasional selection of seasonal fish?
๐Fall is upon us and this brings out KING KAMPACHI and STRIPED BASS!
๐King Kampachi is one of the largest yellowtail fish, with a very crisp yet buttery flesh. Striped bass, on the other hand, has a light, clean flavor with just a hint of a floral undertone.
We will have these on our menu for as long as they are in season, as we only serve the fish at their best.
Note: Generally only available on weekends.
โจ๏ธLook what I've got ๐ถ
HIBIKI Japanese Whisky!
We managed to find one in the wild, alongside its cousin, Hakushu Single Malt, aged 12 years.
These are the only bottles we have, and probably will have for a while. Come try 'em while you can!
NEW menu alert!
We've brought in a Merlot due to popular demand!
"From Francis Ford Coppola Winery's Diamond Collection, it is a return to the classical seasonal pattern, allowing fruit to ripen at a steady pace for a very well-balanced, lush flavor of plum cherries, red berries, and notes of toasted oak."
As always, we are open to further suggestions for our bar! Feel free to let us know, and we are happy to provide!
Hi, Powell...

๐โจ๏ธ๐
We've had a lot of interest in gift cards and have finally been able to set them up!
Gift cards are available whenever we are open, and you are welcome to pay with either cash or credit.
We will do our best to continue providing what our community asks for ๐กโค
Thank you for your support and hope to see you soon!
NEW!! Premium Sake Flights are in!
We were approached by a company named World Sake Imports--dealing with fresh, authentic, high end sake directly from Japan.
After organizing a tasting, we put together a custom PREMIUM sake flight just for us! Our new flights contain a sampling of 3 complementary, high-end specialty sake you won't find in the store. Comes with a custom-made plaque with a wealth of information on each sake.
The flights are available for $20, with the option of further indulging in a glass (or bottle!) from the selection. We are here to keep things fresh, quality, and exciting--hope to see you soon!
From World Sake Imports' website:
"They ask only one thing from us: that their sakes taste exactly the same in America as they do in Japan. We place our orders directly with the breweries for delivery via refrigerated trucks to a refrigerated warehouse in Tokyo. Orders are shipped to the U.S. in refrigerated containers. Once in the U.S., we monitor inventory closely with an eye to rapid turnover and prompt replenishment every month from Japan."
Hello all! We will be CLOSED for the holiday on July 4th. Celebrate America, enjoy your day off and see you later in the week!
MOSCATO HAS ARRIVED! We are trying out five different Moscato to see who comes out on topโthe most popular choice will make it onto our permanent menu.
The options are:
Seven Daughters Veneto
Michele Chiarlo Nivole, Moscato d'Asti
Caposaldo Sparkling Peach
Castello del Poggio, Provincia Di Pavia Moscato
Luccio Berry Moscato
Vote for your favorite by simply ordering a glass ;)
โ๐ทโHappy Mother's Day!!๐ทโ๐ท
To all of you lovely moms out there ๐
We know you don't get enough appreciation, so today we are appreciating YOU!
We are debuting a new special roll called the Vegetable Delight today! Inside, it has lightly fried shiitake tempura with cucumber, and is topped with sweet potatoes in a mango glaze.
It's a little treat-like and healthy, too. We'd love to see you and feed you--feel free to stop by!
๐น
Do you know whose keys these are?
We have a set of Honda car keys left behind under a booth on Friday evening, May 6th. Please help us find their home! โค
ALCOHOL IS HERE!!
Join us for cocktails, wine, beer, sake, and spirits! They can all be found on our online drink menu at https://www.ohoishii.com/drinks
While the staples are all here, we will have a special focus on Japanese products such as whiskey, sake, beer, Japanese gin, etc.
We also plan to slowly stock more and more beer, wine, sake, and liquor based on customer requests and availability of product.
I would really like to thank all of the people of Powell that have reached out to offer help with the delay in our liquor license. Marc Tennenbaum, Don Grubbs, Shaun Simpson, Justin Wise and the crew at Heidelberg, and more! We don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but it undoubtedly helped the process! We are now here for you and would love to serve you :)
Another note--we are not currently allowed to sell liquor on Sundays, which will be beer only. We will apply for a Sunday license and see how that goes! ๐คช
A wonderful guide to sake for the uninitiated!
We will be doing sake flights likely as soon as NEXT WEEK! ๐ถ
What You Need to Know About Sake and How to Drink It Sake can be confusing but a basic introduction will help you choose a good sake. Learn how to drink sake and discover fun cocktails to mix it into.
MORE GOOD NEWS!

We will carry all types of liquor, no limits!
Which brands would you like to see? We are specifically looking into wines and hard liquors perfect for the people of Powell! Let us know!
