Today, we recognize one of the greatest voices, not just in rock music, but music in general. Not only did he have one of the most powerful and unique voices, but he was an amazing songwriter and talented guitarist.
I only got to see him perform live once... with Audioslave at Lollapalooza in 2003. In 2017, Soundgarden was on what would end up being their final tour. They played a show at Starlight amphitheater in Kansas City. The show was on Mother's day Sunday, so I didn't buy a ticket, figuring I would be busy with mom that day. But we ended up celebrating on Sat. instead. I thought about buying a ticket for the concert on Sunday, but for whatever reason, I didn't.
4 days later, on May 18th, 2017, Chris Cornell was gone. Not going to that concert is something I still regret. Go to the concert when you have the chance.

Sad news at the loss of legendary producer and engineer Steve Albini. His importance to alternative rock can't be understated, having produced and mixed music for bands like Nirvana, Urge Overkill, Pixies, The Breeders, Helmet, Failure, Superchunk, Fugazi, Veruca Salt, and more. RIP Steve.
