We are saddened to hear of the passing of Tammy Pate, founder of Art of the Cowgirl. Pate passed away on December 21, 2023.

"Her vision and leadership transformed the organization into a beacon for those who shared her love for the spirit, resilience, and grace of the cowgirl. Tammy continually inspired others, leading with a tenacity that mirrored the qualities she sought to celebrate."

For over 30 years, Laurie Gosney has been involved in the equine and cattle industry, sand/gravel/ready mix construction, and oil and natural gas. All businesses that were land intensive and were specialized in use.

From growing up on a ranch west of Longmont, Colorado, to married life raising her family on a ranch in Bayfield, Colorado, Laurie has experienced all the demands of ranch life. Family ranch life teaches you to wear many hats; operations, sales/marketing, and finance as well as the 2am call to birth a calf out in the cold.

A great part of Laurie’s life has been spent showing in the National Cutting Horse Association, team roping, and ranch sorting/team penning. She gained great understanding of the facility needs and demands during her years of training and exhibiting, resulting in the culmination of winning a NCHA World Championship.

Currently, Laurie lives in Cave Creek, Arizona with her many equines and her ever faithful sidekick, Lucy the Dachshund. In her free time, she continues to ride and spend time with her family and grandchildren in Bayfield, Colorado. Over the past years, Laurie has put her life experience to work in real estate. Laurie looks forward to utilizing her years of experience to find you the perfect ranch property to fulfill your expectations.
