United Way of Yavapai County (UWYC) is not an ordinary charity β¦ it has been the go-to charity for residents and businesses across Yavapai County since 1987. With your help, UWYC can be our community's most impactful non-profit organization.
By identifying community challenges, developing a plan to address those needs, and empowering other non-profit organizations to solve those problems, UWYC helps strengthen the community and lift people out of poverty while helping local businesses create a culture of giving.
UWYC raises money locally through payroll deduction, provides volunteer opportunities, and hosts drives for schools, food banks, shelters, and more. The organization currently grants funds to more than 30 charitable programs countywide.
βWe need to work together on things we can all agree on, such as ending hunger and homelessness and focusing on health, financial stability, and education in our communities,β said Meredith Dunlap-Sterrett, new Chairman of the Board for UWYC. βWe can accomplish these things if we work together, the United Way.β

Our Story
The United Way of Yavapai County began in 1987 organized by volunteers to raise money to help operate local charities.
By the 1950's, more than 1,000 communities across the United States and Canada had established United Ways. In 1974, United Ways raised nearly $1 billion in an annual campaign. Across the county, United Ways now raise more than $4 billion annually.
Today, the United Way remains a volunteer-driven organization that operates independently of all. That means the money we raise in our community stays in our community. More than 98 cents of every dollar we receive stays in Yavapai County, fulfilling our original mandate of "local support".
