Jenn and I often get asked if we are still teaching riding lessons, and the answer is “very selectively”… however this does not mean we are not alive and well in the horse business. This post reflects just that.

I purchased this young horse from a friend Jennifer Wilson Wiggins 18 months ago who had a small but mighty breeding program and was following a different path with her horses. I was at the perfect place at the perfect time to purchase her last youngster “Asby”.

18 months later thanks to some great people this horse is living his best life in Wellington with Ronnie Beard under new ownership. For sure a career highlight for me! It has been refreshing working with several true horsemen that put the horse first and understand the value of excellent horsemanship.

A huge THANK YOU to Jennifer Fox who I absolutely love having as a partner in this Horse Life that we get to live. I could and would not have done this without you!

Thank you Bradley Caine, Jackie Kinney, Tracy Gleason for your help, wisdom, and horsemanship.

Jenn and I are following our passion to serve and we are blessed enough that we are finding our opportunities with horses. We will share more in the future and for now our motto is “Getting horses in the environment that brings out their best” and often the most talented, expensive horses need the most help.
Of course this is not all we do … if you want to know more about our offerings reach out we would love to catch up with all our horse friends.

Enjoy this sunny day!

Horses offer unique ways to re-discover who you are, re-member your purpose in this life, and create from passion. Ulla and Anne support the dialogue between the horse and you, whether you are a seasoned rider, or have only seen a horse from a distance. The horse perspective is that of “everything is part of the herd(whole)”, as we consciously enter into their space, there will be a pull towards equanimity.

Some people find it difficult to articulate their feelings verbally. However, many clients find it easier to identify and express feelings when in the presence of horses. Horses hold space in a safe way that can help clients release feelings that have been stuck or unacknowledged.

With the support of mental health professionals and equine facilitators, personal feelings, beliefs and narratives come to light so healing and change can begin.

LADY MOE: From inside the archives we meet Lady Moe. While some servicemen were known for adopting local dogs and cats, the 96th Bomb Group found another pet to take under their wings.
In August 1943, a crew from the 96th Bomb Group acquired a malnourished 50 pound donkey during their time in North Africa after flying the Regensburg shuttle mission. The donkey, who the men named Lady Moe, survived the journey and experienced her first combat mission when the crew bombed Bordeaux, France, en route to England. After the plane landed at Snetterton Heath, base of the 96th Bomb Group, Lady Moe became famous among the rest of the servicemen, who took great care of her. She enjoyed eating ci******es and food from the mess hall, and spent her days roaming freely around the base. She joined ground crews and support personnel as they anxiously waited for B-17s to return from missions. As a foal with a gentle personality and soft coat, she bunked with servicemen in their barracks. She quickly grew into a 150 pound shaggy coated creature with an ornery temper, according to a March 1944 article in the Stars and Stripes newspaper. Although she lived a pampered life, Lady Moe also had a duty to perform. She appeared as a featured guest at public relations and charity events in England, where children and adults lavished attention and treats onto her. Newspaper and magazine circulations published numerous articles about her exploits on and off the base. Lady Moe also made an appearance in V-J Day celebrations at Snetterton Heath in August 1945, where she remained after the war. On 3 October 1945 Lady Moe’s life came to a tragic end when she was hit by a train after she wandered onto a railroad track. Her death was reported in several newspapers to the shock of the men who cared for her. She was buried at the base. In the years after the war, the men of the 96th Bomb Group remembered her fondly, whether it was a shared cigarette or avoiding her teeth in their attempts to pet her.
