.dem announced that Farm Fresh Rhode Island has been awarded over $37,000 as part of ’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program!

Farm Fresh RI’s Farm to School & Community Education team will use these funds to pilot the “Sowing Knowledge, Reaping Change” program, focused on building the capacity for school groups to learn and teach about local food systems and Rhode Island specialty crops.

The program will empower students advocate for real change in their school food environment: students will learn to conduct taste tests using locally sourced fruits and vegetables, educate and engage their peers and school community about Rhode Island specialty crops, and design a service project for both exploratory learning and informed decision-making.

Our next performance on September 12th will feature a community talent show with 5-7 minute performances from kids and adults alike, as well as a wellness fair. We hope to see you there!

Get ready for a delicious Saturday! Join us at the Broad Street Farmers Market from 10am to 12:30pm for an African cuisine cooking demonstration with Joyce Akinfolarin. Joyce will be whipping up traditional dishes like akara, moimoi, jollof rice, and more—come hungry!

In addition to our cafe and storefront in Pawtucket, Harvest Kitchen also has a behind-the-scenes commercial processing kitchen at Farm Fresh RI. This is where we process value-added products using surplus and B-grade produce from local farms to create our own line of signature products, as well as provide co-packing and private label production services for other local businesses and farms.

Our signature items include applesauce, stewed tomatoes, apple chips, hearty soups and, of course, these beautiful pickles. Swipe to see our processing kitchen in action!

We had a great time learning and playing with you all at Kids Day at the Neutaconkanut Farmer’s Market! Activities included zucchini muffin samplings, writing thank you notes to farmers, identifying local crop seeds, community music making with marimbas, screen printing, and so much more.

Bring the kiddos! It’s extra fun for the whole family on Kids Day around the Neutaconakut Park Farmers Market. From 3pm to 5pm, MARIMBAS will provide musical entertainment with children’s songs. Our Community Education team will be on-site with zucchini muffin samples and fun activities for kids!

Kids Day is free and open to the public! The Neutaconakut Park Farmers Market is located at 675 Plainfield St., next to the Recreation Center.

To celebrate National Farmers Market Week and thank our local farmers and producers, Farm Fresh RI is running an instagram photo competition from 8/5-8/10. To enter the competition, simply take a photo of your favorite farmer or farm stand at the market, post it on your instagram feed, tag the farmer, Farm Fresh RI, and and the markets location. The winner will receive $20 in Fresh Bucks to spend at any Farm Fresh RI farmers market!

We had a successful kids market at our Neutaconkanut Market on Monday! Visit our Armory Park Market tomorrow from 3pm-7pm for our second kids market with facepainting, touch-a-truck, live music, our community ed team, and more!

recently visited our Harvest Kitchen processing kitchen! Students worked with Chareese and Sean, members of our Harvest Kitchen team, who taught them how to make our Harvest Kitchen pickles. Each student made their own delicious jar that they got to take home with them!
