It’s a “pinch me” kind of day here at SEMIA! I am thrilled to announce that I will be teaching this year’s Masterclass at the 2024 Art in Bloom ! I am proud and honored to have been asked, and cannot wait to meet so many wonderful designers and floral enthusiasts.
My love of all things floral, and my commitment to this industry runs deep. I can’t wait to share this love with you. We’re going to have a wondrous time together.
A recent conversation with a lovely new client about yellow floral has me reliving this gorgeous summer day with the also lovely and wonderful . Excited to explore the warm and welcoming powers of yellow floral once again this coming June 💛
When it comes to lighting, you simply can’t beat the queen. Mother Nature, you are wondrous.
One week ago today, we redefined the term “golden hour”. In fact, the courtyard glowed from dawn to dusk as we lovingly adorned her with every delicious tangerine and yellow bloom imaginable. From 8am to 5pm we lived on ladders, made friends with lots of bees, and brought our vibrant artistry to the dessert landscape. I will never forget this day. The mountains, the high fives with team mates on adjacent ladders, the most incredible rambling table designs that redefine beauty and thoughtfulness. Thank you once again, for trusting us with your vision. It was a real good one. 🧡💛

// Of all the design elements from our time in Miami, this one right here is one of my favorites. This moment in time for me expresses everything this team is about. Artistry, quiet thoughtfulness of movement, and unexpected pockets of beauty. I smile big when I see this image.
// A perfect way to complete our Miami journey.
Thank you team.
// I love what we did and I can’t wait for more artful moments just like these.

Final celebration // Versace Mansion
Our fourth event & final color palette. Inspired by the interior architecture of the mansion as well as the crystal blue pool. Our florals were a collection of creamy & vibrant yellows as well as soft blues & periwinkle.
Highlights included floral stage with piano that hovered over the pool, floral tapestries that hung from the upper courtyard, a grand floral fountain, an overflowing floral staircase & the most gorgeous table settings one could ever imagine.
✨The team that runs the mansion lovingly told us that it’s never looked so good. That of all the weddings that have been there & of all the events they’ve hosted, these colors & our design work brought out the best of this iconic space.
✨A compliment we deeply cherish with pride & gratitude!✨We did it… with team work, style & determination.
Thank you Versace Mansion ✨✨

Versace Fountain Floral /// This is how you know you have an incredible team……
✨With luxury event work, you are challenged with grand design work, production, ex*****on, logistics & construction. How in the midst of it all do you keep floral artistry in the forefront? How do you make sure you stay true to your brand, to the art, to the flowers & not just
“get the job done”?
✨The answer is that you surround yourself with like minded people who always remember why they are there in the first place.
The flowers. The art. Plain and simple.
✨It’s taking an epic fountain floral installation, designed by several people on the team …..
& seeing in the final iteration that clematis blooms are floating in the water with the stone ladies adorned in flowers.
✨It’s knowing that the people you are with care that much. To leave one impactful piece of artistry behind for someone who chooses to see it. To leave a little piece of the SEMIA brand behind & not just race to the next design.
✨This team is incredible for what they accomplish. But they are even more amazing because they leave soulful floral moments wherever they go.
✨For me… that makes all the difference.
We can now execute any job. But we make it beautiful & emotional beyond measure; in a way that is completely us - no one else. ✨✨

Art Deco theater meets flirty garden.
Trust us, it’s a thing.

Same incredible hotel, different night with a new transformation. We invite you to the Welcome Celebration at the Faena Theatre!
Flirty and Feminine. French Bistro meets Moulin Rouge. Dramatic and romantic…..two adjectives I adore.
Tables consisted of the most delicious floral. Novelty tulips, perfect anemone, voluptuous ranunculus and delicate maidenhair and Japanese clematis. The stage was adorned with a massive hanging floral, the piano and performers were engrossed in blooms, and towering floral urns anchored this grand space. All this beauty set within a fabulous art deco theatre.
Each entertainer’s performance, truly incredible. But I’m also giving a round of applause to the flowers. They stole the show, if you ask me. 🩷💕

✨An intimate rehearsal dinner set in the most luxe private dining room. Gold leafed ceiling, leather walls, a table designed and crafted by Brad Pitt himself, as well as an impressive collection of premier cognacs, few rooms rival this opulence.
✨Luxurious rooms beckon luxurious
florals. Rich burgundy, amber, and chocolate, enriched with deep velvety purples. Moments of silky neutrals in both the florals and candle ware accented each and every delicious, dark detail.
✨Give me a singular, over the top, elevated table to design any day, all day. More is more, and I’m not afraid to say it.

Completely flower a 45 x 17 truss structure in pink blooms with speed and efficiency. Then double the dimensions of the structure as it was repeated twice. Choose the perfect pink faux blooms for the project so that every nuance of this shade is celebrated. Follow with sixteen massive fresh designs for guests to enjoy. All in a days work.
The fact of the matter is, the planning behind this epic installation took months of thought, lots of math, and 17 people many hours of installation in the middle of the night. And its construction all started in our studio back home in RI, transported by our very own team via truck to Florida.
Team work makes the dream work. Really and truly in every sense of the phrase. Each and every one of us had our hands on this massive installation. I’ve never seen a display of such incredible team fortitude and collaboration.
2023, the year I fell in love with the pinwheel Gerbera. She’s fancy with her curly, two toned petals that look like long, luscious eyelashes. Lots of charisma and personality, just like these lovely ladies. 🤍
Working here in the beautiful Ocean State, we design many seaside ceremonies. Most take place in the warmer months but often times you catch incredible weather here in November. Designing for Lucy’s ceremony by the sea during a month where texture abounds, truly gave us the opportunity to do something special. Never before have I mixed autumn clematis swirls with hybrid delphiniums and aging forsythia greens. Never before have I taken such a seasonal element as the clematis, and been able to integrate it with perhaps more “expected” ceremony floral. The mixture of subtly autumn material with voluptuous blooms was tremendous and fit perfectly within the landscape. I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome for our sweet Lucy and Peter.
Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words. That and a sixty foot serpentine aisle that still leaves me breathless, three days later.
Creating the floral for B&E this weekend was a joy and a privilege. Also a joy and a privilege, working with true wedding professionals that I am lucky enough to call friends as well as a floral team that surpasses expectations Every. Single. Time. No competition, no drama. Just creativity and camaraderie.
When you love what you do, beautiful things happen.
“Life imitates art far more than art imitates life” - Oscar Wilde
It wasn’t until the fifth time that I watched this film that I cried.
Why the fifth time? Why not the first?
My fifth play back was for two people who have recently joined our Semia Studio family. Two people who weren’t here when we flowered this event in March. But they are two people who are here now, as part of the future of this company.
They weren’t here for the planning. They weren’t here for the 5, 10 hour days spent every week over the course of three months, working at the conference table coordinating logistics and ordering product. They weren’t here for the “all nighters” in Orlando. They weren’t here for the tractor trailer delivery of flowers. And they weren’t here for the second tractor trailer delivery of plants.
They weren’t here for the five rental trucks and the 52 elevated designs we made in one day. They weren’t here for the 4000 stems of wisteria.
But they are here now. And when I saw their reaction to the film, that’s when I became emotional. They were noticeably moved. Noticeably in awe of the event we created. Pride filled my heart.
I intimately lived this. So did a group of 15 amazing, hardworking, dedicated and talented individuals on our home team. Add seven more from Orlando. And yet sometimes, you still forget. You forget what you accomplished. But that’s why we have . He beautifully helps you remember.
It was about scale. It was about production. It was about three consecutive days of events. It was about insurmountable beauty. It was about taking 23 years in the industry and putting it all together alongside the best in the business, my fellow floral comrades. It was about believing we were that good.
It was about passion. And over the course of six months, that passion has only intensified as we prepare for even bigger floral adventures in 2024.
