Looking to add to these numbers in 2024-2025 Season!!
Please Welcome from the Badger State….Wisconsin native 174 lbs. Michael Schliem. Michael Schliem
Big News coming tomorrow as JWU picks up 2 late transfers to the squad!!!
We cap off our final weight class at 285 Headlining the 285 is 4X All-Region Swift (there as only been nine 4X All-Region at all weights for JWU). All-American and Regional Champ Leka is the Highest Honouree. Aurelio, Stanley and Dedeyn round out this amazing group!!!
The 197s of DiNardo, Wrzesien and Harr have been intertwined with these 3 wrestling at 197 and 285 for the betterment of the team, but all are the solid 197s. The early days saw NJ State Champ Crespo and NJ Native Mulligan rise as well.
The 184 pound weight class has some Big names to its credit. Starting off with the original Lenhardt (Ryan), an MMA super star in Ward, then sprinkle in a few 2X All-Americans (B. Lenhardt and Thomas) and finish it off with a National Finalist in DeVivo.
If there were to be an Alumni Match this would be the weight class we would all want to see!! Five All-Americans with over 500+ Wins to their name. You have 2 funk junkers and 3 traditional in your face grapplers. Who you got?
The 165s are rolling in with 13 All-Region Honors, 7 Region Champs, 5 All-Americans a National Finalist and over 500 dual meet wins!!! .
The 157 starting spot at JWU have been brutal over the years as guys would knock each other off for the leading role. These 5 made the most of their opportunities to help lead the Wildcats to Success.
With 14 All-Region Honors this group of 149s have solidified the middle portion of JWUs lineup for over 20 years. This line up included 2 High Flying Throwers and Funk Junkers along with 3 very stable, reliable and dependable gamers.
This weight class has had a strangle hold on 141 for nearly a decade. Starting off with the Ferinde Brothers to JRob. Then where to put Brown? He is a Regional Champ at 133,141 and 149. So we placed him dead smack in the middle at 141. And finish off with 2X Region Champ and All-American Perlleshi. That’s 11 Total All-American Honors for this prestigious group.
The 133 lbs weight class has seen its share of 125 pounders come up and a few 141 pounders come down for a year, but these 5 were the staple of the weight class.
The 125 lbs weight class has been a force for the JWU program since it began, but these 5 hammers have lit it up. 16 Regional Finalists, 10 Regional Champions, 8 All-Americans, 4 National Champions. They have registered 590 individual wins. And the Cherry on top is Fry has one more year!!!
For the Next 10 days we will be posting JWUs Top 5 wrestlers to have put on the Uniform at each weight class. The Top 5 wrestlers are not going to be listed in any particular numerical order. This is a Top 5 based on Record, Regional and National Ranking and Placement. This is just a fun listing and feel free to comment!!
