In just one week, our internationally renowned training faculty, Dan Cohen, Emily Blefeld, Lisa Murphy, Antonia Stessl, and Rotger Heilmeier, together with an amazing circle of participants coming with deep and profound intentions, will embark on a transformative journey on the serene grounds of the St. Ottilien retreat center in Eresing (west of Munich), Germany.

We call together a diverse circle of consciousness evolutionaries prepared to free themselves from inherited entanglements patterns, soul restrictions, and hidden family dynamics. What would I be without my teachers? How generously have they given to me from their treasure box of knowledge and skills that served my life and my competence so that I could grow into what I am now?

Often I forgot what I owe them. It all became so naturally a part of my life and of myself, of which I was proud, as if it came from me. Forgetting my teachers sometimes, much that I owe them escapes me. It becomes less for me and loses strength.

It is different when I have them in my heart, when I remember them with gratitude. Then I feel richly given to. They are with me in what I do and in what I pass on to others, when, as they did to me, I give to others what serves their life and achievement.

Do I feel small in comparison to them? On the contrary. I may stand next to them, in the service of life, like them, humble and small before life, and thus all the more completely at one with life and its movements.

When I honour and share what I owe my teachers, others take from me more openly what I give to them for their life. Their gaze goes beyond me to all those who were by my side, who shared my life with me, as I share it with others.

Then we all look beyond our teachers, to the creative spirit who is equally at work in all life. As we did before this spirit, we bow to our teachers, and they, together with us, bow before this spirit. Before this spirit we remain below, on the ground, all of us, all grateful, all equally alive, and equally in spirit’s service."

Hallmark promotes Thanksgiving as a big meal with the family gathered around a table, Christmas as a lighted tree surrounded by wrapped presents, Hannukah as a celebration of light, and New Year's as a wild party. The Internet introduced the acronym WYSIWYG – What You See, Is What You Get. It means that codes and algorithms operate in the background and the user only deals with what is visibly presented to the eye. Many families approach the holidays with the same attitude. The brother whose death collapsed the whole family is “not there.” The father who disappeared is never mentioned. The unjust losses suffered and advantages gained are barely acknowledged. The gathering family distracts themselves with the buzz of inebriants and electronic devices.

Underneath this veneer of civility and acceptable behavior, emotions ignite in the heart and pound against closed throats and anxious bellies of those sensitive to what is unseen and unspoken. In reality, when it comes to family, the more accurate acronym is WINAIWYG – What Is Not Acknowledged Is What You Get.

There is more to us than a unique human body, personal history and mind. We are also the sum of experiences and memories that comprise our biological lineage. Our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, and the countless ancestors behind them literally live on in the cells of our bodies. When the family gets together, guess who’s there? Everyone! Literally.
Imagine what it would be like if, instead of having to repeat old family patterns and arguments, all the adults behaved like adults, and all the children were free from being the baggage holders for their elders’ ineffective coping strategies.

Emily and Dan are teaching people everywhere how to access the consciousness of ancestral and divine presence that surrounds and inhabits us. When given a place at the table, these presences become a resource for unknotting generations of undigested trauma.

Rather than understanding innocence and guilt in moral terms, the systemic perspective recognizes them as governors that maintain balance, bonding and order. Seen this way, the cloak of innocence obscures the truth whereas accepting and acknowledging one’s own guilt reveals the path to compassion and reconciliation.

Civilized people everywhere, assiduously avoid looking at the bloody soil under their feet. In the Alchemical Constellations Training & Facilitator Certification, we dive into the darkest places of collective and personal trauma. Why seek light by exploring its shadows? Because the same rage that burned the witches still burns within us as the shadow perpetrator. To deny that is to wrap up in a cloak of innocence with all its righteous claims. To find all of those parts of ourselves that r**e, burn and slay is to claim our wholeness. Like all humans, we do good things and destructive things. When we are truthful to ourselves in our wholeness, we claim our power to have a positive impact.
