Lee
Shown daily at 6:20
Lee, begins in the late 1930s, as Hi**er amasses power in Germany. Elizabeth “Lee” Miller (Kate Winslet) leaves her artistic circle of friends and life behind in France, and travels to London after falling wildly in love with the art dealer Roland Penrose (Alexander Skarsgård). The two embark on a passionate relationship, just as war breaks out in Europe. Already a renowned photographer, Lee gains a job completing assignments for British Vogue, but is shocked by the restrictions placed on female photographers. As Hi**er’s regime takes over Europe, Lee grows increasingly frustrated that her work is constrained by patriarchal rules. Determined to be where the action is, she defiantly pushes against the establishment and, with the blessing of her friend and editor Audrey Withers (Andrea Riseborough), Lee overcomes enormous obstacles to get herself to the frontline of World War II. Compelled to document the truth, she turns her lens in the direction of suffering, and slowly begins to reveal the horrific loss of life due to Hi**er’s diabolical crimes against the innocent victims of his regime. Lee Miller carried out this dangerous work for the sake of the female readers of Vogue magazine, from whom the reality of war was largely kept hidden, and in the process yielded an indelible series of pictures which to this day continue to shape how we view these events.

Girls Will Be Girls
Shown daily at 3:50
In a strict boarding school nestled in the Himalayas, Mira is a successful student shouldering high expectations from her parents and her teachers. But as she wrestles with new desires and ample curiosity inspired by the handsome Sri, she finds herself at odds with the school’s strict rules and her mother’s incessant involvement in her new romance. As Mira strives to escape the watchful eyes of her teachers, mother and fellow students and find time alone with Sri, Mira approaches learning about love with the same dedication that she applies to her studies, resulting in sometimes comic and shocking conclusions. While the film is a beautiful coming-of-age story, the romance between the lead protagonists is a sensitive exploration of female desire that observes how conservative cultures entrap women under strict expectations and norms.

In the shark-filled waters off Cape Cod, Michael Packard has long tempted fate.
For several months a year, Packard and his longtime mate, Josiah Mayo, cast off nearly every morning around dawn and navigate through the half-light to their diving grounds off Provincetown, the idiosyncratic, isolated community where they grew up at the tip of the Cape. Packard buckles on his scuba tank and plunges into the cold waters to hunt on the seafloor.
As the region’s last-remaining commercial lobster diver, the aging father has had his share of harrowing experiences, which include close encounters with great whites, nearly drowning, and having to pull up the body of a fellow diver. He even survived a plane crash in the jungles of Costa Rica, where he ran a charter fishing business. But what happened to him on a routine dive during a clear June morning was something he never imagined possible, and many around the world refused to believe.
In an experience of biblical proportions, Packard was engulfed by a humpback whale, caught in the watery cavity of its massive mouth. After some 30 seconds of a pitch-black captivity, in which he expected to die, he was spit out, fins first, to the surface, where Mayo and another fisherman rescued him.
The publicity was similarly dizzying for the reclusive fisherman, whose survival story spread around the world in news dispatches. But what came after the limelight dimmed was even more significant for Packard.
